I had a gmail account that had been mine for 8 years in my old name. I held onto it for a year. I just deleted it. All I was getting was junk mail and spam, so it's now closed. Permanentlly!

Yay! I am going through the looong process of changing my name too I wish I had done it ages ago its so cathartic!
