Here's my "You can do it too" post for the day:

I'm a life member and have been under my goal for some time. I don't have to tell you how rewarding it is to be here. But on Thursday, there was another reward. I had to have some minor surgery and they were looking to find out how much of a certain drug I needed, and the woman said to another: She weighs 118 lbs." My H was sitting there and could hear it. I was thinking how it was not embarrassing to hear those numbers and, how humiliated I would have been if the numbers were 145 or even 150 and my H was sitting there! I believe I was up to 150 at some point in our M but he has blinders and never seemed to notice I put on weight, but I think he would have noticed if he heard a number like 150!

Hmmm...

Even at 166 (which my hubby to be is quite aware of) I still feel pretty darn sexy.

I am really looking forward to losing this extra weight.. but he loves me the way I am.

Yesterday I went and got my hair done. I gave myself a break and didn't do any exercise yesterday... and guess what. I was a pound and half lighter this morning

Go figure

You rode out the plateau and POOF, it's gone. Sometimes it just takes shaking it up a bit.

I went out of town for my son's jazz festival at school. They won 3rd out of 11 in their division which was great considering this is an extra curricular for them and not a class which most of the competitors there are.

So I went to a buffet and got a baked potato and some fruits and veggies. I really wanted the fried chicken, texas toast and an ice cream cone but I knew I needed to behave. We went out to dinner with family later though and the breakfast was big. I ate every last crumb. I still had ten points for the day but I figure I probably dipped into 20 bank points too. Oh well...that's what they are there for. I worked out extra hard today and burned a minium of 525 lbs. It could have been more but my phone rang and I had to move to get reception and the machine cleared out my stats....rats. So I took a low estimate. I would love to work out again tonight but I won't be neurotic about it. My parents want to go out to eat tonight too and I'm trying to figure out how to stay on task. I'll get there, darn it.

I'm still good so far but I hope to not go up too much after this weekend. If I do, I do. It's a lifestyle change, not a diet....or so I remind myself.

Nice weekend, good food and time to behave again....

Can someone with online tools calculate this for me. I had this at O'Charley's today but I didn't eat the rice and I scraped off most of the sauce so it will be lower than what's calculated but I'd like to know the worst case scenario. The rice pilaf alone is 5 points and I didn't eat it.

What does the whole dish calculate to so I can guesstimate what I ate?

689 calories, 17 grams of fat, 6 grams of fiber

Thanks in advance for the help. This just goes to show that you think you're eating healthy but it can still be very high in points. I ate the chicken and the broccoli, scraped off most of the sauce and didn't eat the rice. It was the terryaki chicken which was good but apparently, not as low cal as I'd hoped....lol. Good thing I had the points and I worked out mega hard today.

P.S. The website I used that was helpful was dietfacts.com. They had a lot of restaurants and menu nutritional information on it.

I have a slider and I'm estimating, but I think 14.

I had a lousy day. I stayed within points, but only because I ate junk and not much else for dinner. Not healthy, and won't result in any weightloss for me!

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Another good site is www.healthydiningfinder.com.

It lists different restaurants and gives a few "healthier options" for different restaurants, with nutrition info.

O.k.

I am going to start working out on an Eliptical. Does anyone have any tips or things I should know?

And SW.. Last time we went out to eat I checked the nutritional info online and I was floored at what was good and what wasn't.

Some of the salads, soups and wraps were waaaaaayyyyyyy worse for fat and calories than you would think.

I ended up goign with a half order of the spaghetti bolognese as it was the lowest for everything. Isn't that odd?

It is tough to eat out sometimes. You think you're ordering light and you find out it was huge. Fortunately, I had to points to spare but I did an extra half an hour on the treadmill with incline at 10% just to be safe.

Elliptical is a great workout machine. I like it best of everything. You can burn pretty easily 250 calories or more depending on how hard or how long you want to work out. But even if all you have is half an hour, 250 calories is easy to burn. I've gotten so much stronger doing this.

I missed weigh in last week because of an ice storm that rolled through town. I will weigh in on Thursday. As of last week, I was down 22.5 lbs and I'm hoping for another loss this week.

You guys are great and you keep me pushing forward. I appreciate all the support and information. Something about being in a group for weight loss is so helpful.

Even though I've got another 25 lbs to lose, I look so much better and I feel just hugely better. I feel like I got a new body sometimes.

I went out of town this weekend and made reasonable choices this weekend. I didn't get a lot of water in but survival was good enough for me.....lol. Sometimes that's the best you can hope for in a situation.

Guess who's down another half pound this morning?

O.k.. is it just me or is the elliptical machine really really hard?

Yikes. The muscle on the front of my legs right above my knees is burning like crazy.. after 5 minutes!!!!!!!!

Ouch. So I think the plan is ten minutes 3 or 4 times a day until I can go longer stretches at a time.

Did I say Ouch yet?

I bought a used elliptical off of Craig's List. I got 2 fabulous 40 minute workouts before the fucker broke on me. I love ellipticals- I think they are fun to work out on.

I currently have a rickety stationary bike. But now that it's warming up I plan to buy a real bike.

I signed up for Spark People today. It seems pretty neat. It will be interesting to see if I get any results by following their plan. I have been just casually trying to eat better and add in more activity, but I'm not seeing any results so I decided to start tracking my efforts. If I still don't see any results at least I have a ton of info to take to the dr with me!

12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

Elliptical was killer for me to for the exact same reason. Two things helped. One is that I stretched beforehand by grabbing my foot behind my rear and just holding it and pulling it in a bit (while standing). Second....ride the elliptical slower and it doesn't burn so bad. You'll build your time every day you use it. My speed on it started at about 2.8 and I still do around 3.0 because I do 45-55 minutes on it now. The faster you pedal on that the more the burn in the front thigh area so slow your walk/pedal down a lot until you get better on it. I can do an hour on it now with no problem and what a burn of calories you get from it. I did three mintues the first three times I did it so don't feel bad at all.

BTW....I'm down 23.5 now. Yipeee.....I survived the weekend out of town.

42 minutes.

I stretched and then pushed through the initial burn and it actually got easier. Probably as my muscles warmed up. I have been walking/jogging up to 4 miles a day for the last few month so I'm sure that helped some.

It still was on the lowest setting though.

My machine tells me how may calories I burned... which was 400 or so... and then it tells me the fat calories burned. Which was 120 something.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two?

Now you'll have to excuse me while I go pass out in the shower lol.

The elliptical I work out on doesn't have the fat calorie on it and I'm not sure what that is. My H isn't sure what the difference is either. I worked out 45 minutes on level 11 tonight and burned 410 calories. Nice workout because 8 points of WW is burned off...not really but it feels like it....lol.

Congratulations for working through the burn. It's hard to do sometimes but it's good when you can do it. I'm getting so much stronger with the exercise. I feel so much better....

Everyone is doing so good. I'm glad I started this post. We can keep each other charged every day and it's so helpful.

I've still got about six points to eat tonight. I'm not even hungry.

Also...I bought Gorton's butter garlic fish filets and cooked them in a pan. I have to admit they were really good. I'm not a huge fish fan but these were good. My 13 year old LOVED them and even wanted seconds. I made it with corn on the cob and Bob Evans mashed potatoes from the grocery store. Made for a low point dinner and it was really good. My other favorite is still the Palermo pizza from the freezer section that is Marghuerita flavored/garlic, basil and skimmed mozzarella cheese. It is surprisingly very flavorful and low point. One third of the pizza is only six points. My family loves them too. My favorite late night snack is a fudscicle that's only two points. Cures a sweet tooth and my junk food cravings....lol.

I still feel pretty darn sexy.

I am really looking forward to losing this extra weight.. but he loves me the way I am.

Hi Meta! Sounds like you are doing great! And the fact you and your husband feel this way about you, right now, regardless of a number on a scale, is big plus! I hope that my comment about "how bad 150 would sound to me" was not off-putting to anyone who happens to weigh more than that. To relate to my thread, I wish I would have suggested anyone reading it substituted "your own number of horror", and I think most of us have one, whether it be going over the 200 lb mark, or over the 300 lb. mark.

For one thing, I have weighed over 200 myself, and this was after having my children, not my preg. weight. I have struggled and obsessed over my weight for many, many years, but have managed to keep it no higher than around 150, probably, during the past 15 years so my H has never seen me really heavy. And for the last several years, I would say 150 was that dreaded number not to go over for me. Just want to clarify this is in my head for me, and my H did find me sexy when I weighed 150, but I don't think he knew I weighed that much, and "in my head" I envisioned if he heard the number he'd be appalled! I hope that explains why it feels so good to me to be at my goal weight and not embarrassed that my weight was stated out loud in front of my H. I guess what I'm really saying is that now, being at my goal weight, I feel that my thinking is healthier (and less weight obsessed) than before which is a very good thing.

I'm trying to inspire others but after reading this again, I'm not sure that my last post would be inspiring to some. One thing that I want to say, and WW has been a big part of it for me, is that I'm in a much better place mentally, about healthy eating, about food, and I'm not nearly as obsessed with my weight. I stick to my maintenance plan every day and know I will never have to worry about gaining a lot of weight again if I stick with this.

Hi everyone!

DCK, sparkpeople looks like a great site. You can track what you eat, the calories, fat, sodium etc., and you can build recipes and see what the total nutritional info is. The message boards seem pretty positive too. I've signed up but I'm following the WW plan, but I like the sparkpeople approach and I get their daily e-mails.

You guys are really inspiring me to get out and do more real exercise. I actually cleaned off my old exercise bike (which was a clothes rack) and used it for its intended purpose!

I am going to get a real bike too next month. My mother gave me $$ for x-mas '06 that I designated towards a bike, but I haven't done it yet - I spent lots of time looking and narrowed down what I want. So now I have to go do it!

Everyone is doing great! Thanks so much for keeping this going, the support is great for keeping me motivated.

oh yeah, this morning I was back down to where I was a week ago so YAY!!!
