Maybe we can rally each other to behave and stay focused. I have done WW successfully in the past and am going back on it this week. I've got 40 lbs to lose thanks to infidelity but I can do it because I was successful in the past. It's an easy program if you can keep your head in the game...I'm going to do this !!!
All those WW members or wannabe's.....come here for support and we'll keep a rally going.

I hope this is an appropriate forum for this...I want to help motivate people and I can periodically use motivation and inspiration also.

Hey, finaly something I feel qualified to comment on!
Fitness has been part of my life since I was a teenager. WW is OK - but don't forget exercise. Weight loss is a simple equation - calories in VS calories burnt. You don't don't just want weight loss you want to be tone and firm. Cardio will do wonders for your weight and for your health. Weight training will help give you a firm well defined shape. Once you get the high of feeling good and looking good you'll never look back! Learn about "food" about what your body needs VS what you have trained it to "want". Sugar and processed foods are your enemy! Think cave man food. Lean meat, veggies, fruit.
Good luck everyone!

I'm in. I had great success the first time around; lost 29 pounds. I still have 28 to lose (my personal goal). Though per WW I have 34 pounds to lose. I'll be happy with 5 at this point.

Count me in, too. Joined WW in 2004, lost 40 lbs. in 5 months. Have been Life Member for 3+ years.
Insane: my NY resolution is to exercise & tone (I'm 52) starting NOW, so I'm counting on your support and encouragement & motivation (like kicking me in my saggy b*tt).

Oh, and former WW's, if you haven't been for awhile, the options they have are fantastic. It's not hard IF you're ready to just do it.
And recipes...I want recipes (easy ones; hate to cook).
Just watched Biggest Loser (love that show) and am so motivated.

Dagny,
If you jon a gym find a partner that you can work out with. Plan on meeting them on a regular schedule. It will help you to stay with if you know someone else is depending on you. Start slow, expect to be sore for a while. Get good advice from a personal trainer and Track your progress with a logg book.
By summer you'll be loving it! Getting started is the hardest part.

Wahoo! Here I am! I posted in F&G about signing back up, just this morning.
I am re-DEE! It worked great for me once, but my life plan got interrupted by an unexpected pregnancy. I'm using the WW online tools, which is what I did last time. I've never been to a meeting.
I agree with the excercise comments. It not only helped me lose faster, but I got a sort of sick pleasure out of watching the activity points rack up and not take advantage of them by eating them away.
After a long, hard walk I would treat myself with a fat-free fudgesicle while I walked around slowly in a cool-down, and that was as spoiled as I let myself get. It was silly, but it kept me motivated and feeling like I was totally getting by with something bad.
And I'm all about getting by with things, long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.
Did you see that WW now has a Men's section? I found that very cool. Mr. T went on it with me last time and just melted away the weight. I'm glad they have a plan specifically geared to men now.

Oy it's going to be weird to see WW in this forum and have it mean weight watchers lol...I'm in.
I'm not paying for WW anymore..I still got my books from last year so I'm just going to use that. Here's hoping this works without the meetings.

Count me in too! I have my WW books from last year too so I will be pulling them out and dusting them off.
I also signed up for the 2008 National Body Challenge to get the 8week free Bally's membership. It's valid from 1/5/07 to 3/5/07. I plan on going everyday after work since there's a gym about 2 blocks away. It really helped in the past! Good luck everyone.

I told FWH I would be joining WW next week while there is no registration fee.
I will need ALL the support I can get.
I don't visit SI very much any more--but I'll pop in here occasionally.
Blessings.

WW is great and, once you get used to it, it IS so easy. It's all about choices. Have been on it about 3 years now since reaching my goal weight.
Good luck all!

I like to go to this website for inspiration:
http://www.weightwatchen.com
She lost her weight on weight watchers, and she created a community there for people trying to lose weight. The community is free. You don't have to register or create a blog if you don't want to - but it's great inspiration to read the stories.
Under "Roni's Resources" there is a link "Diet Unit Calculators". You can find out how many points you should be eating. She also has a points calculatr where you enter the calories, fat grams, dietary fiber grams and this will give you the number of points for the item you are trying to eat.
She also has created a food site with a lot of weight watcher friendly recipes:
http://greenlitebites.com
Just one more tool in the weight loss journey! I hope you all find it useful.

I wish! Or I wouldn't be shamefully walking back into WW again, having regained it all.
I commute. Any ideas for lunch that don't involve a sandwich, tuna or soup will be appreciated. I have the soup/sandwich rontine down pat.
This time, I will concentrate first on drinking the water (hot tea helps) and giving up all fast-food and vending machine snacks. Exceptions will be the small Wendy's chili (the one served without a finger - those have extra points
) with a small side salad or a plain potato with it.
Ideas please!

SuspiciousMind, Dont feel bad. I belong to T.O.P.S. (a non profit support group) and I have seen people lose all the goal weight, keep it off for years, only to drop off the bandwagon, regain it all, then lose it all a second time.
It happens. What matters is you keep trying!

I'd rather keep eating pasta and fat-rich, sugar-full ice cream!
Seriously though, I've developed a health issue the past couple of year that led to allergies to all sorts of things, including foods that kept me happy and full on WW last time. It's going to be tougher this time.
