I am a Weight Watchers life member and a huge fan of WW. I believe it is the best plan out there. You can eat anything, nothing is forbidden, but of course it counts and you are encouraged to permanently change your eating habits and plan for healthy eating on a regular basis. I like my carbs and you do NOT have to give up carbs on WW. Of course you can't have loads and loads of rich food and still lose weight, but you can learn to eat moderately without totally giving up anything.

I was around 170 lbs when I married my first H at age 19.

I now weigh 117 (3 lbs under my WW goal) and have been undergoal for about 1.5 years now.

I have done the lose it and then gain it back again game. This time it is different. I have never consistently stayed below my goal for this long before. I feel that I have changed my habits, but even more so, I have made a very conscious decision that I will not use food and food binging as a coping mechanism as I have done in the past. Even at WW, I will hear members talk about going off the plan, eating pie and goodies (and not counting it) and then the leader asks "Was it worth it?" The members often laugh it off and say Yes. This is fine, but if I was the leader I'd be a tough love leader. Members with that attitude do not really want to change their habits badly enough to make it happen. You really have to want it enough to give up the way you have been doing things in the past.

Thanks for the encouragement to us, Bobbi Sue.

I did fairly well for a Day 1. I had a diet almond cookie and dark chocolate hot chocolate as my serious splurges, but they werent' too bad on the point system.

I got in four glasses of water. I need to shoot for double. The last time I managed it, I remember chugging a glass at room temp in the mornings to get it down fast and to give me a head start at the beginning of the day.

Think cave man food. Lean meat, veggies, fruit.

arruugguhhh, that's me, I'm more an atkins/southbeach girl but if you'll have this cavewoman I'm in. I am familiar with the points process through a friend and can adapt them into my plan of lower carbs

Since you can really eat whatever you choose on WW, I don't see any problem adapting a low carb plan to WW (even thought this is not something I would do). Also, I think the WW Core plan is a modified low carb plan anyway.

I just want to say that I would not discourage anyone who admits to a "splurge" or falling off the plan, I am just saying after it is done, realize it. The part I'd be tough about would be someone laughing off their splurge saying "It was worth every bite." I just think those that feel that way after the fact are not really in the mind set to succeed, permanently changing the habits that got them where they are.

Hi all...I saw this post and laughed because of the irony of my own WW story. Back and forth for years. In late Sept '07 I joined again because the pounds had stockpiled after a year and a half of unhappiness and stress. Then, 3 days later I found out about my husband's A.

Needless to say the pounds have melted away over the course of these 3 months of hell. For the first time in my life I was too sickened to eat. Nothing seemed appealing. I ate only to live and be healthy. The joy and craving was gone.

It taught me a valuable lesson. I am stronger than infidelity, and I am stronger than food. I medicated myself with food and numbness and stress when we were at our lowest. When we hit rock bottom I couldn't eat at all. I decided to no longer be the woman who ignored anything. Every morsel I eat is from the core plan, and is eaten to give me energy, strength and health. If I treat myself, I savor the treat and then move on. I am living wide awake right now.

I take a lot of deep breaths and feel the air fill me with energy. As the weight fell off and I was able to wear pre-baby, pre-marriage clothes again, I felt like the woman I used to be before all this shit. I feel like the woman my kids deserve to have as their mom.

I follow the core plan, but on Saturdays I relax and don't worry.

NOTHING FEELS AS GOOD AS FEELING GOOD ABOUT MY BODY. I feel like my body was violated by infidelity and my own lack of attention. It is on its way back - and it feels good. There is a strut in my step.I am stronger. I wore tight little capris to the gym and my WH just stared.

I wish you all the strength to not care about a cookie. To care less about a second serving of pasta. To not crave the chocolate. Crave the feeling of your jeans zipping up seamlessly. Crave the feeling of breathing easy and having the body that is already in there....

I have lots of core plan tricks if anyone wants them. I did cut out a lot of carbs because imho I was addicted to them and sort of using them to numb me. But the core is just so damn easy. A big hug and high five to all of you.

You're all frigging awesome. Don't forget it.

My 16yo daughter had blood work done to check her thyroid. It was found she has high blood sugar - not quite ready to consider her diabetic, but diet is a huge issue with her - she basically eats only cereal & pasta!

I also have borderline high sugar and the Dr wants me to take off about 30-40 pounds. I have in the past and this has combated the high blood sugar...

So this past weekend in support of each other we took turns throwing out some of the "bad" foods around here...

She tossed the last of her fav ice cream & the chips & dip... I tossed the last of the Xmas cookies and biscotti. It was actually kind of fun!

So we are on the eat healthy plan - and it's nice to not have the junk in the house! Since I'm home all day - it all just calls my name!

Love isn't what you say, it's what you do.

Today is day 5 on WW, and I'm feeling pretty good. I've gone over on my points a little each day, BUT have exercised to offset the overages. Down a pound, only 29 more to go.

I've worked out 5 days in a row, which is a HUGE deal for me. I am actually feeling a little tired surprisingly, but that isn't going to stop me from hitting the treadmill again tonight! Official weigh in is Friday. Fun, fun.

Congrats, severelywounded! Way to go!

Hi! I've started WW.

Do any of you have suggestions for lunches? For dinner at home, I can graze for crunch or drink low-cal hot chocolate for a sweet treat.

Count me in too. Infidelity affected me opposite of the "infidelity diet". I have 40 extra now, and I really hate how I feel. I have never been overweight before this. Doesn't help now that I am 46 either.

My weigh-in is on Friday, and I literally ignore the scale until then. I'll post details when I weigh in.

I'm feeling (once again) like I'm not even on a diet at all. Last night we had home-made fajitas. I substituted lowfat where I could, and took minimal amounts of the rest. It was the best meal we've had all week here at home, and the points were laughably low.

The night before that, I used the WW recipe for pho (which I and Mr. T love with a passion). My whole supper that night was 4.5 points, and I couldn't have eaten another bite.

I just love the Flex plan. I keep thinking, "I'm dieting, right?" This is the only diet I've ever been on, and I am continually amazed at what I can "get by with".

For treats, and for my dark chocolate craving, I buy Hershey's Special Dark bars. One or two squares of that thing is a wonderful treat and kills the big urges that would make me want a milkshake. I count it right in with my daily points and still often fall short for the day.

I'll begin physical exercise in another week or so. I was going to start this coming week, but we've had a kink thrown in the works by a change in schedule. I've had to pus everything back as a result.

I fell down a little on Monday at lunchtime. We were in the city to take care of doctor appointments and such, and weren't going to be home in time for lunch. The only takeout in the area I was in was of the McDonald's variety, so I did the best I could with what I had. I went to Taco Bell and got a chicken baja thingie (gordita? chalupa? can't remember) and iced tea. It was about 8 or 9 points, which is much higher than my usual lunchtime. That night I loaded up on veggies before I even put meat on my plate. I was worried that evening when I went to type in my points. I was afraid I'd gone over, and I didn't want to have to use my weekly points at all.

Uh. I came in 2.5 points under for the day. I celebrated with a light beer (2 points!).

This just feels psycho. I remember being surprised by it all the last time I was on it. I spend a lot of time staring at my computer screen saying, "You're kidding!" In a good way.

Can somebody tell me what the Weight Watchers weekly fee is now? I did WW about 20 years ago, and did pretty well, but I know it has gotten more expensive. My finances are suffering right now, so I can't really afford ANYTHING extra. Is there any way to get the information on their points system, etc., without paying for it? Any info would be appreciated!

Don't know if you all saw it or not because I posted in F&G but my H and I are doing a weightloss challenge.

We are each trying to lose one pound a week for the entire year.

At the end of the year if we have both met our goal we will treat ourselves to a night in a luxury suite!

We also have monthly challenges and the person who loses the least weight each month has to plan a date for the other one.

It's actually a lot of fun so far!

Tomorrow we have our first weekly weigh in and I have to admit I'm nervous. Men lose weight easier than women at the beginning and I think he's been doing really well.

We take turns at night on our elliptical while we watch television and having the both of us do this has kept us on track.

We are having troubles finding snacks that he likes. He doesn't do vegies very well.

We aren't doing WW but I would be interested in any good recipes anyone would like to share.

We aren't doing any one diet in particular...just watching our carbs and total calories and fat and trying to make smart choices and move more.

Yay!!!

Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional.

Hello everyone

Well it's time. I have a wedding (my own) in June and I would like to lose weight by then. I can't say how much exactly .. but basically I need to lose 45 pounds

I am not sure how much is possible to lose safely by June. I need to still eat properly and have energy .. so no crash dieting.

I have been thinking of checking out weight watchers and will probably use walking and swimming as my primary form of exercise.

I just had a nightmare last night that I tried on the wedding dress and it didn't fit

The reality is I haven't even picked one because i hate how they look.

This is a really happy ocassion and I refuse to ruin it by being ashamed of my weight.

So any pointers on where to start would be appreciated.

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

I can't do WW because I have no extra money, but could really use some support.

I try and eat so well then I eat one really bad meal and feel like I've crashed. Then I can't seem to get the motivation to exercise.

One sided love is NEVER enough!
