I am getting a little frustrated at how long this is taking. I have to keep reminding myself what Severely Wounded just said. We didn't get this way overnight.

And it hasn't been quite 4 weeks yet. But I am holding at 7 or 8 pounds lost.

Realistically that's what it should be right? About 2 pounds a week?

I will keep at this.

I am so glad you are all here doing this with me

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

WW says 1-2 pounds per week is normal and healthy after the first week.

Well, what I said about my clothes? Tonight I went to the grocery store and as I was walking to my car I almost lost my pants! They're lowrise so it doesn't take much for that to happen, but it was kind of funny.

In the past month, I've lost 10.5 pounds and I have noticed a big difference in my clothes. I have to keep pulling up my pants/jeans and the other night, my pants were dragging on the floor. Another 5 pounds and I will have completely dropped a size (obviously, that is my next goal).

For me, I think what has helped is that I do 20 minutes of Windsor pilates each morning. It is a good way to loosen my body before I work out and I think it is helping to tone my butt, hips and mid section.

Anyway - everyone, keep posting. Your success stories inspire me.

Hang in there Meta. 2lb a week is bang on and the best amount to lose if you want to keep it off

I signed onto Spark people last night, and have tracked and stuck to the eating plan to day, tho I'm finding it hard to change the food lists to stuff I like/can buy in the uk!

I also spoke to the nurse this morning when I went to the doctors. I got weighed today (16st 1lb ) and am going back every month to get weighed. She basically told me everything I already know, but as she said, the main aim of talking to her was to get someone else to be accountable to.

betinkers, very smart to go back every month. The accountability really helps.

I was getting frustrated for no real reason but the scales weren't moving and some days I was up when I didn't think I should be. I got on this morning and it was where I thought it should be. I think my body was adapting to the workouts that I was doing and needed me to do something to shake up the routine. I ate just a little more and I worked out again and it came down.

I'm still not sure where my monthly cycle is (I must be going through early menopause) so I am sure I'm retaining some fluids since it's been over 28 days...who knows.

Anyway...I'm down 17 pounds in a month so I cannot complain. There's a certain number that I never wanted to cross on the scale that I want to be under and STAY under. I hit it but then I started fluctuating.

I'm thinking very soon I will be below that number and stay there !!!

I went out to dinner last night and ate more than I should have. I was really good - I went to a local italian restaurant and had a small pizza - asked for only a little lowfat cheese and lots of veggies. But then I ate 2/3 of it! Figure I'm okay because of weekly points, but I really need to get exercising!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to increase my protein without increasing my fat and calorie intake too much?

I try to consume a gram a protein per day per lb. of body weight, about 100-105 grams, spread over 5-6 meals. That's kind of the high end, but I do a lot of strength training.

It gets hard getting in all that protein. I usually consume:

*4-6 eggwhites.

*non-fat cottage cheese

*skinless chicken breasts

*fish (even the fatty ones like salmon are good)

*turkey

*tuna

*any wild game like venison, bison, etc. (I feed these---raw---to my dog as well)

*tofu, sometimes---it's not as efficiently utilized by the body as animal proteins, unfortunately

And, a high-quality whey protein powder that can be mixed into anything. Water, milk, juice, yogurt, pancakes; anything that needs a protein boost.

Good luck! Happy eating.

Oh Meta that will be so much fun.

I got on the scale this morning and have lost another pound this week.

I have never had to try to loose weight before so this is really hard for me.

Thanks Broken

I have always hated shopping for clothes.. and I am exceptionally nervous about this one. But at the end of the day .. this wedding is about sooooooo much more than a party and a dress and I just need to stop being nervous about it.

Great job sw!

Well, I had dropped another 2 but I gained it back thanks to a few meals. If I go off at all I seem to gain. Oh well, this week should be better.

SW!!!! I am so proud of you!!!! You are doing fantastic!!!!

And Broken.. I am the same way. Last night was the dinner to taste the menu for the wedding so I ate things I wouldn't even dream of eating these days.

(including lasagna that was soooooo good).

I didn't even eat half of my main course and I'm up a pound this morning

There is no way in heck I ate that much. So I'm going to give it a day or two and let it level out.

Well done for sticking with it everyone

#I had a rubbish weekend - little boys party, then I was godmother, plus people to stay for the weekend - I decided I wasn't going to stress about food - just not worth the hassle. SO got back into it today and actually managed to do the exercise I put down on spark people!! 20min exercise biking and some strength stuff.

Way to go Betinkers!

You now what I love? that even after an off day or weekend we keep going back to this. Yay for us!!

Tonight I will be doign strength training (sparkpeople). -25 degrees here today So dragging the little guy out in the wagon for a walk is not possible. But dancing in the basement is! And then the strength training exercises.

Tonight is my favorite meal. Whole Wheat couscous with mushrooms chicken, green pepper, tomato, and onion sauteed in reduced fat chicken broth. I LOVE it. I would eat this even if I weren't dieting.

Anyone else have some good recipies to share? what are your favorites?
