Ok, so how do I start exactly? Is this like Jenny Craig where they supply the food? Or do they just supply you with the "process?" ie...how to do it?
I've got about 30 to 35 lbs to lose.

Hey not!
No prepared foods. If you do weight watchers you can either go to meetings or do it online. They give you guidelines and break foods down into points. You eat a certain number of "points" per day.
Several people here are following sparkpeople instead. I don't know as much about it, but it's free to join.
I am so proud of everyone for keeping at it.

Well, I was tired when I got home so I made an omelet for dinner - eggbeaters, a spoonful of black beans, salsa and a sprinkle of lowfat cheese. I added a teaspoon of FF sourcream and a small corn tortilla. I think it's only 2 or 4 points - I need to figure it out.

I'm just changing my eating habits and trying to exercise more.
I have lost almost 20 pounds now. I had to keep pulling my pants up today.

Notthesum,
Go to the Weight Watchers Website, and you will find links to help you find the nearest meetings or meetings that are held at times when you can attend.

How's everyone doing today?
I had an ok day - a bit up on fat grams, but I've felt a bit sick all day, so there was a bit of comfort eating of peanut butter in there
good on everything else tho.
Going to take some pain killers and hope that the sickness is pain related and hope that I'll feel ok again tomorrow.

I did well all day, but I need to eat more earlier in the day. If I end up consuming 40% of my calories (or more) at night, then I don't burn them. The gained back 2 pounds over the weekend and I don't think it's moved since Saturday. But that's okay - weightloss is only part of this, the real thing is to get healthy.
Until 10 minutes ago when I scarfed down a fruit by the foot. Those were my last two points for the day and I should have had a glass of milk or a yogurt to get all my dairy. Instead, I added sugar at the end of the day. First sugary thing I've had in weeks, so I'm worried that it will trigger a binge of junk food. I better go get a big glass of water!

Does everyone have a plan in place for Valentine's Day?
We are going to a wonderful restaurant. I plan to order the grilled salmon and ask for an extra vegetables instead of the rice that they serve with it.
I would love to have their bread but I will make sure the waiter does not bring it to the table.
After all, I have to weigh in on Friday morning!!!!

Hi everyone!
My SO is taking me to a really nice, really romantic restaurant for Valentine's Day. I have no idea what's on the menu, but I know that it isn't going to be a low-cal meal, even if I skip the wine and dessert. But I'll probably never get to this place again - it's out of our budget!
The scale finally moved again and was down 2 this morning. I had to take my belt in a notch and I wore a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in a year.

WooHooo!!!!!!!
Everybody is doing so awesome!!!
I think I am around 11 pounds down now. I don't officially weigh myself until tomorrow though.
If I can continue that pace or a little under I should have no problem meeting my goal by the end of May.
(ETA .. Way to go Hosea!! We'll be here for support for sure! If I can do it with all my bad habits then anyone can.. truly!)

Ugh!
Well I can't seem to stay under a 11 pound loss. I'm back to that. I'm going to drink lots of water today and try and limit the salt - maybe that's part of it. I knew this would happen because I'm back to my "most normal" weight. I'd gained the extra ten over the past year due to D stress following the infidelity diet where I'd dropped 20.
I need to stay focused and motivated.

11 pounds is good! Don't get discouraged!
I don't even know what weight to count. First thing in the a.m. I am down 12 pounds as of today... but by afternoon I'm up three pounds.. then it's gone in the morning again
I think I'll just stick to morning weigh ins
I am averaging about 10-12 glasses of water a day between actual water and herbal tea. so i a m sure by the end of the day a lot of that is water weight.
Because I have a looming dress fitting deadline (middle of May) I am going to start walking 2 miles in the morning before I start working as well as 2 miles in the evening. That plus the strength training exercises should speed things up a little I am hping.
Still .. .12 pounds in 6 weeks isn't too shabby

Hey Meta! 12 pounds in 6 weeks is awesome!!!
Just keep your mind focused on how easily that dress is going to slide on!!
Just keep going Broken
Sometimes your weight plateaus for a bit and you need to do something different to get it to move - different exercise or change some of the foods you eat.
You've got so far, I'm sure you'll manage to get over this blip
I had a very relaxed day yesterday
just couldn't be bothered in the evening as H had cooked such a fab meal - we're going out to eat tonight, but I've had a good day so far, so hoping to offset whatever damage gets done tonight - it's a valentines set menu thing, so not as much choice as normal. So just going to have what I want within reason and not stress about it too much, then nose back to the grindstone tomorrow!

Thanks Betinkers
I was dreaming about the wedding dress last night (of course in the dream it was 6 sizes too small and the wrong color
).
We had to go out for a set menu last week. One thing I might recommend is to really prepare yourself for the fact that this is one time thing. Whenever I stray off the plan it always ends up making me eat less than great for a few days. It's like I give myself permission and then everything gets off track.
So now I plan for it.. and work extra hard the next day to get back in stride.
(I blew a whole week after my birthday by not planning
)
