Today I read about visceral fat.

That's that fat that lives on the inside, not the fat that's just below the surface. The visceral fat is the stuff that can surround our organs, makes for inflammation and blood vessel problems, and is located in the abdomen. It's the really bad for you fat. I've definitely got it - I'm one of the apple people. The studies say that in order to get rid of it, you really need vigorous exercise (not moderate exercise.) Darn it, I would much rather walk than run. So, I guess I need to really kick up the cardio.

It's a definite motivator though!

Hi all-

I would like to join your group!

Before DDay I was so bright and happy and in-shape. I walked daily and biked 3 days a week.

Since DDay I am disgusting, dead inside and out, and have gained about 20lbs. I spend countless hours sitting on the couch and eating and eating and eating. I just like to keep chewing and chewing in front of the TV because it helps keep my mind from spinning . Well, in a moment of clarity I know I am only hurting myself more by getting fat and lumpy on top of it.

So I am going to try and get it together and let all of you inspire me!!!!

All thoughts and opinions subject to change.

Yippeee, yipeeee, yippeee....

I finally crossed that mark. Down 21.5 lbs as of this morning. Stepped up my water a bit and maybe that helped.

I have to run to work but had to spread the excitement.

Welcome kicked....infidelity did it to me too but try almost 50 pounds before I got my head wrapped around it. You can jump on with us and take it off before it gets to be too big of a number for motivation.

Yippeee....I've got an extra skip in my step today !!!

Okay guys...bad math...I ran out of fingers and toes to count on...lol. I'm down 20.5 but I'm still thrilled. I was stuck and I finally crossed that 20 lb mark. I'm going to keep pushing forward.

I am off to work out since I have about a 1.5 hour window to do it and the rest of the night is running kids everywhere.

I've still got that spring in my step...one goal down. My next goal is another five pounds and I'll keep setting until I reach the big goal.

Yippee....keep up the good work guys. If I can do this, anyone can.

20.5 is still marvelous SW. Trust me when I get there (and I WILL get there ) I will probably throw a parade

Just got back from my walk. 4 consecutive 15 minute miles today

Treated myself by stopping at the drugstore on the way home and buying some new make-up and pedicure stuff.

I think I need a new scale. It's not accurate. I weighed myself today and I was 4 pounds heavier 10 minutes later

If I bang on it a bit it works again.. but I think I may want something a tad more reliable

Off to do my strength training, take a nice hot bath and drink my tea

Well, having a bad night. Things with my teenager are lousy and I'm very depressed. Translation: EATING!!!! Luckily, I was really frugal with points today and so I had a few for snacking. Weight watcher's giant fudge bar. And a 100 cal pack of sunchips. One of them would have been plenty, but I gotta keep eating. Ugh! I need a man in my house - I'd rather have sex than eat! (sorry - tmi!!! )

I've had so very little time for me today and I'm feeling like stress eating too. I've been eating grape tomatoes just to feed the savage and not put on points. I've still got room for a fudgsicle that I am going to have at some point. I had to take my kids to basketball, umpire classes, jazz band practice, meet a friend to giver her some papers half an hour away one way....my house is a mess and I want to clean it but don't want to start if I can't tackle a project. I did manage to do two loads of laundry, load the dishwasher and run it and very lightly tidy ...trust me, not enough....some of the house.

I normally work part time and have worked mostly full time through the month of February plus I'm trying to be dilligent and work out every day. My stressors are high because I feel like I'm behind on everything.

I'm surviving though ....haven't binged yet.

Anything I can do to support you girls tonight? We can p.m. if you want an ear.

It's funny.. I see H.A.L.T. at work here..

Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired.

The four most likely reasons to relapse in any addiction.

So if you're hungry.. eat. And if it's any of the other three make sure they are addressed .. but not with food.

Can you guys get to bed early? Or lock yourselves in the bathroom and take a bubble bath?

Do something nice for you and p.m. me if you want to chat :)

Both of my kids have to be picked up at 9pm at two different locations and my H is in class so I'm flying solo. Fortunately the two schools are close so they should be okay to wait on me. I'm going to eat my ice cream when I get back, take a hot shower and go to bed. It's supposed to be very cold here tomorrow so I'm ready to snuggle under two down blankets....lol. We have had a lot of cold weather and it's drying my skin out terribly.

I would love to come home and have my H surprise me with a maid that came in and cleaned for me while I was gone but it isn't going to happen. He is clueless when it comes to that. I'll just have to live with the dust until I can get to it. Such is life....

At least I still get my ice cream tonight....lol.

Time for an update?

Total loss: 7lbs. To go: 23 to go.

I'm going to a Black Belt Ceremony in a couple months, hoping to lose 10 more at least by then.

Just because people normally see me in my gi and don't really know that I've lost weight. It's about the most UNflattering thing I own, but necessary.

Great Job BR!!!

Black Belt huh? That is so cool. I'd love to do that - is it too late for a 44 year old to start?

Meta, just saw your post this morning - thanks hun, I kissed my DS (who proceeded to tell me that he still hates me) and went to bed. This morning the sun is shining and I feel better.

But the darn scale has moved the wrong way - I'm up a pound for no good reason. I've eaten a little more the last few days but I've still stayed OP and haven't even used an weekly points... Maybe it's salt. My body just doesn't want to budge from this weight range - it's been comfortable far too long!

I hear you. I have stepped up the workouts.. still eating what I am supposed to and the stupid scale is showing a five pound GAIN this morning.

Logically I know there must be a reason.

One my caloric intake might just be too low (eating around or just under 1200 calories per day)..

or two the stupid scale is wonky..

or three I am cursed to look like a hobbit for the rest of my life.

But I am frustrated beyond belief.

Going to buy a new scale this morning. And I guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing but the urge to go eat Mcdonalds is pretty high this morning.

My attitude stinks today

Welcome!

Regarding the popcorn, I think it varies by brand so use the nutritional information on the box and your points calculator. In the old days there wasnt'a "fiber cap" and it used to count for like one point, but under the current program I think the fullsize bag is 3 or 4.
