Thanks for the help. My favorite zero point foods are veggies and blueberries. I don't have a sweet tooth so that isn't a problem.

SW- I'm not skinny. I have a grotesque middle section that is dangerously close to not fastening my jeans... I resemble a budda.

Exercise is the key - but I'm so freaking lazy it's pathetic.

Lucky, you can come be lazy next to me. The most I've managed is to incorporate a light yoga routine in about three days a week (AM/PM Yoga dvd). I haven't been putting my activity points into my WW program because even though I'm gardening, shoveling, kneeling, raking and such, it's probably the amount of exercise I *ought* be getting anyway. I know some people that count how many steps are in their staircase and then keep a checklist of how often they run up and down them, but I can't do that. I go up and down all day after the kids (office downstairs, playroom and bedrooms for kids upstairs, laundry room upstairs).

Be careful about your blueberries. You'll have to find out how much you can eat without tipping into points. So far I've filled up on baby carrots and such as munchies, but I've discovered that just a small handful (maybe 5 chips?) of Sunchips and variations are really filling so I don't need to munch often. I eat a few of those as I cruise along in the kitchen preparing kid lunches and stuff, and it really helps. They're super low on points *and* they give you one of your vital oils. Yay!

One of my favorite "decadent" treats is a cup of vanilla yogurt with fresh pineapple thrown in. I'm serious, it's better than ice cream and way, way low on points. I'm also a fan of the WW fudgesicles, which I use when I'm actually exercising as a dangling carrot to keep me motivated. If I walk for 45 minutes, I get a fudgie. Hooray for fudgies! I come into the house and grab one, then nibble at it while I walk around outside to cool down. Can't imagine what the neighbors think of it.

Lucky, even if you don't like doing exercise, do you think you could set up a similar reward system for doing tummy crunches or something? It sounds more like you need a weight maintenance program plus exercise to tone up (you'll still lose a bit) instead of a full weight loss program.

I should probably tell myself I can't get on the computer until I do soft crunches and my arm flappers (2 lb weights).

I don't know what the exercise points are.(?)

Lucky is joining us now?

Welcome !

I hear you on the walks Lucky. I love them but they are signifgantly harder in the snow. That's a good thing though. Every little bit of resistance punches the workout.

Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.

We don't have much snow left, but I did a skidder on some ice today.

I'm maybe a week from having my bicycle out.

I am just starving today and I don't know why. I've had plenty of food and tried munching on low and zero foods but I'm still so hungry today. I had a bunch of high protein foods today so I shouldn't be but my tummy just feels hunger tonight. I actually left and did another workout just to get out of the house so I didn't stay here and eat. This is the first day since I started that I am so darn hungry. I burned 705 calories today with both workouts added together. Productive day with dieting but not much else....

I'm lazy by nature also but am actually enjoying working out. I dread it some nights but I'm glad after I've done it. I feel so much more fit than I did. It is amazing what exercise and shedding over 30 lbs can make on how you feel.

Congrats everyone for taking the steps to take care of yourself. It's the first important step in getting healthy.

Your so right sw. I used to either walk six miles or bike twelve, everyday, and I LOVED it.

It's just getting back into the swing of it.

Hi everyone....can I join too? I haven't posted for a while on SI, but need to get my a** in gear.

Lately my weight has been a sticking point with my husband (FWH). I need to lose a good 50 pounds. I've done it before on Weight Watchers but I am losing the motivation with depression. I need the help to keep going.

They say it takes 21 days to change a habit....today is day one for me. I hope this will be a great place to get support. Not only "just" for the weight loss, but in dealing with weight loss and all the other issues we continue to struggle with (Weight Watchers meetings don't cover infidelity issues....).

I guess I'll go put on my sneakers now and get on that treadmill downstairs!!

This weekend was a long series of diet-destroyig events. Dinner party Friday, food craving attack Saturday followed by a night at a club that night, and then Sunday BRUNCH BUFFET. Yikes.

But I got through it all and I think I might be down another pound or so (my scale is non-digital so it's hard to tell for sure, those little lines are soooo little)

I was really good this weekend!

Welcome, Iwasblind! You are right! SI is my favorite place to post for any topic. Not just infidelity. This thread is great. It is consistently one of the top five on Inspirations. Usually number one or two.

I ate conrned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots yesterday. Oh well. I don't feel too badly, though, because yesterday at the gym I had my bodyfat percentage measured---11.2%. Pretty good, huh? Down from 23% this time last year. That's enough inspiration for me to keep eating clean until my next free day.

Meta, I thought of you this morning and said to myself that I had to tell you (since you got me going with the tape measure.) I'm down 2 inches on my waist since 2 weeks ago. Yippeee!!!

You guys are the best. Now if I can just get moving more.

I weighed in today (I try to only do it every few days)

242 baby.

That would be 8 pounds lost (or 11% of my goal)!

Well, part of it is that I have a lot to lose. But also I have been really good on the calorie counting, AND I'm exercising a lot. Well, a lot for me anyway. I've never really been a workout person.

Oh, I volunteered to bring desert to easter dinner. I'm making a jello cake. Sounds decadent, but if you make angelfood cake instead of regular white cake, then pour in sugar-free jello and top with fat free cool whip then you've gat a fab dessert for under 200 calories. w00t!

Another good day. I was going to just burn 244 calories today because my turn was up on the elliptical but got to yacking with another mom from the high school that I hadn't met and then realized I'd burned 400 calories. Time flew.....

I think I'm hitting a plateau, I'm not sure. It feels like forever since I've lost anything even though it's not. I am just slowing down on my weight loss because I'm only 17 lbs from goal now so I'm sure it's going to go slower. I could be hitting a plateau though because I've been doing this since early January. I'm not going to likely get a chance to work out tomorrow because my H is in class and I have to do all the running. If I do get to work out, it will be late and a lighter than usual workout.

One day at a time guys....we're all going to be there soon.

Welcome all newbies to the thread....you are absolutely welcome to join in. The more the merrier. We all get it....that's the best part. No such thing as a screw up because we've all been there, the struggles, the temptations....we've all been there.

Baby steps....it's all we can do !!!

I'm suprised because I have not been eating well the past couple of weeks. Just have to keep plugging away.

I could really go for Mc Donald's this morning. I know its going to be a long and icky drive to work. Perfect morning for stopping at the Mc D's before I get on the freeway and getting a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and a couple hash browns. And a Mello Yello.

Good god.... now that I wrote that out loud it sounds horrifying.

GAH! Out of morbid curiosity I looked up the calories in my usual McD's breakfast

Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit 450

Two hash browns 280

Medium soda 210

I am so horrified. I used to have that for breakfast a couple times a week. And I'd often be hungry an hour late because mcd's oesn't stick with you.
