Hi everyone!

SW, how are you feeling today? I've been thinking about you sandbagging, and worrying about everyone in the flood zone....

Today I took my DS to a rubiks cube "speedcubing" tournament. Picture a bunch of teen boys from all over (some people traveled 500 miles!)

They compete solving rubiks cubes in the fastest times. The fastest ones can do it in less than 11 seconds.

They speedcube all day!

So I spent most of the day sitting around and didn't get nearly enough exercise.

I stayed on program with eating though.

Tomorrow is going to be a challenge for many of us, certainly for me! I'm giving my kids baskets. I can pass up the chocolate but I love jellybeans. DD wanted sour ones but I thought - no way, they are my absolute weakness. I need to just stay away from it all when I put out the baskets tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to brunch with family. It's a buffet so I'm hoping they'll be some decent choices.

Thank you for asking about me....it is very kind. I am so sore. My muscles ache more tonight than they did this morning. My arms and torso/back area...not like a back injury but more like a muscle ache. Aleve is helping a little but I'll have to ride it out.

The water is receding as of today. They are very pleased at how much was saved with the efforts. The highway I commute on will likely be closed until Wednesday, or so they say because it is presently eight feet under water. I normally work part time but I work four days this week and unfortunately, it's all early in the week so I'll have a huge problem with my commute to work. I'm debating on taking a personal day but I work in a medical office and we have a heavy schedule so I probably shouldn't. It's just a mess. We took some pictures of the flood today, I'll possibly post a couple when I get them off the camera.

I feel very fortunate that my house is dry and my family is safe. I'm grateful that my boys got to see first hand how much kindness can help those in need. They are good boys and know that already to a degree but they saw it in a big way this week. One of the high schools in our district is surrounded by water, the entire parking lot. The school is safe but the highway in front of it and their parking lot is under water. I don't know what they'll do about school on Monday....we've had a lot more snow this year too so they don't have any extra days left to cancel school. I'm certainly ready for mine to go back....lol....my house looks like it exploded.....truly.

I worked out on the elliptical this morning. It was hard and I did about 32 minutes and then came home and took some Aleve and just curled up in a blanket....lol. My arms hurt to even hold a hair dryer up....lol. My H and I were talking tonight. The sandbags weighed probably between 40-70 lbs depending on how much they were filled and I did that for almost three hours. I lifted and tossed probably over 300 bags so it's no wonder my arms are killing me and my torso.

Thank you guys so much for your support.'

I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful holiday tomorrow and enjoy time with family and friends.

If you survive tomorrow, absolutely terrific. If you don't, pick up, dust off and start again on Monday.

You guys are just the best ever....I hope you all know that.

P.S. The little old man's house we tried to save is surrounded by water but it might be okay. The water was as high as his fence in his yard that we were hoisting bags over. It was up to the top of the bags but it was hard to tell if it protected everything. I hope so for his sake. He seemed like a kind and grateful old man.

We've had family calling that we haven't heard from in years. They've heard Fenton, MO on the news and got worried. We're just a little suburb of St. Louis and we've been all over the national news. Seems weird but it's happening.....

I just got home from Easter dinner. My low-cal jello cake was a hit. Everyone said it was very nice and refreshing.

I managed to not totally overeat at dinner, either. Oh I was so tempted. But it's nice to do a holiday dinner and not feel uncomfortably full.

Hi, checking in.

I went out for an early Brunch with family. I did pretty well even though they didn't have many good choices - I had sliced turkey, fruit,

greenbeans and one eggs benedict w/o the hollandaise.

But then there was a separate dessert room with super hi-cal stuff. I felt kind of pressured to eat dessert (big mistake) and I had a piece of lemon meringue pie. I thought - egg whites aren't bad.

I didn't eat the crust so it could have been much worse!

I went to the park and walked for an hour to make up for it.

Then I made dinner - shrimp fra diavolo (made w/o oil or wine) and a highfiber pasta, and steamed asparagus.

I'm stuffed!

But I avoided the chocolate peanut butter eggs.

I ate dinner at like, 2pm. Kinda hungry now.

I want nachos. I'm not going to eat nachos of course. But I want them. I have come up with a low-cal pizza substitute. This week I will have to re-invent nachos.

I make my own tortilla chips - cut 2 small corn tortillas into 8 wedges each. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray & bake at 400. I turn em once and add a little kosher salt. You have to watch em because they burn easily.

Not only is it lower cal/lower fat, but by making just 16 chips, I can't eat a whole bag of chips!

I'm off to battle traffic today so everyone have a good day. My main hwy opened up so I'm very happy about that. It takes away a huge amount of commuting stress for me with the flooding. Yippeee......

For those of you who looooove pizza rolls, try the Amy's organic cheese pizza snacks. Only 190 calories per serving (5-6 rolls), totally not as greasy as regular pizza rolls and JUST as tasty.

I think these are my new favorite late-night snack.

Good morning all!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Meta, haven't heard from you, are you doing okay?

I got out and walked 2 days in a row. For me that's really good. I'm finally getting out and walking now that the weather is finally turning around (it's cold still but at least it's sunny and lighter later in the day.) I know it isn't a big calorie burner, but it's a good way for me to get moving more.

I also did my stretching/toning dvd.

After the weekend, I'm getting back on track. Come on gang, we can do this.

Yep, we can do this !!!

Unfortunately, the scale went up three pounds after I cheated on Easter but the good news is that it usually comes off quickly if you jump right back on track...which I have.

I was emotionally stressed yesterday with the flood issues and I had the thought of I could so ditch the diet and eat...don't feel like working out. But I got on track, stayed within points, worked out hard and got back on and am glad I did.

I bought a pilates DVD to use at home when I cannot get to the clubhouse or if I want to do an extra workout. I'm going to try it out today. We'll see how it goes.

I hope everyone is feeling recharged and taking steps...whether they are baby steps or big steps....in the right direction. Keep plugging forward...we're going to do this.

I didn't cheat at all on Easter, but the scale hasn't budged for a few days. I'm tired and cranky and kinda feeling like being "bad".

But I resisted the urge to get Taco Bell for lunch.

Ok I'm frustrated....seriously frustrated! I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing and it's not working. SparkPeople gave me a calorie range of 1,200-1,550 calories per day, but I didn't factor in workint out. I'm keeping my calorie count well below 1,400 calories a day. Most days it's right around 1,100 with what I burn off at the gym. I'm working out a minimum of 5 nights a week - on a normal night I burn 450 calories in my cardio alone before hitting the weight machines. I splurged on Easter but still wasn't horrible in the calorie count AND I worked out Easter morning! So why the heck does the scale show me gaining weight?

This morning, I was up .2 from where I was yesterday - which is 2.4 up from where I was Saturday morning. And, the weight I was at Saturday morning, I'd been stuck at for over a week.

It's almost 3pm here - I've had breakfast (yogurt and an orange), a morning snack (reduced fat Cheez-its) and lunch (Weight Watchers TV Dinner and a banana). Right now my calorie count is at 680 for the day. I'm thinking in another hour or so I'll eat my afternoon snack (another orange) so by the time I get home, my calorie count will be at 740 for the day. I'm going to the gym tonight but it will be a short workout because I have to take my dog to the vet. I figure I'll burn 300 calories tonight. Dinner is going to be a little high in calories because it's chicken breasts, stuffing and a cream soup. But I got the healthy request soup and am using water to make the stuffing instead of chicken broth. It's a casserole type thing so I can get away with not eating much of the stuffing. I figure worst case scenario, I'm looking at 500/600 calories for dinner - and that's planning high. So with what I'll burn off at the gym, I should be somewhere around 1050/1100 calories for the day. This is a pretty typical day for me, with the exception of dinner being a bit higher in calories than usual.

So...what am I doing wrong???

Don't give me songs ~ give me something to sing about.

Nothing...sometimes you retain fluids for some reason, sometimes it's cyclic, sometimes it's muscle...sometimes it just is what it is. You'll see...keep up the good work and one day you'll hop on the scale and it will be down two lbs or so.

Hang with it....our bodies rebel sometimes even when we don't.

It sounds like you’re doing well – eating better and exercising. Sometimes it just takes time for the scale to show results. Sometimes your body wants to “hold on” to fat – it’s the body's way of protecting you from starving. I lost and regained a lost the same 4 pounds for weeks. Finally, the scale started to move again and I got past that. Keep on track and you’ll see results, really. Check your measurements. You may find that you’ve lost inches even if you haven’t lost weight.

Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water. I’d suggest – add more fiber. If you added a little highfiber cereal to that yogurt, it would help.

Sparkpeople gave me that calorie range, as well. I decided to up it to 1400-1600 because I thought 1250 was way too low for a low end.
