Woo Hoo! I'm down another pound!!! I haven't seen this number in a really, really long time.

Welcome click!

As for it being harder, well, sure it's harder than when you were 20. But I'm 44 and I'm doing it so you can too!

Cat, I agree - I think it's a good program for eating "real food" and managing weight for the long haul.

I really like sparkpeople too. VERY supportive, lot's of nutrition counseling and behavior counseling. And you track what you eat.

DCK, does sparkpeople break down your daily nutrition in what you've eaten? Does it tell you how much fat, protein carbs etc. you've had in a day? I use sparkpeople for the info, I follow WW's and I track everything on Prevention's site. I like prevention because it's easy to use and easy for me to see how what I'm eating breaks down nutritionally (a biggie for me because of some health issues.) I'm all over the place.

I hope everyone has a great day.

My SP nutrition tracker keeps track of my calories, carbs, protein and fat. I have it on the default setting- you can also have it count other things for you, like sugars and fiber and such.

Mine's a big glaring reminder all the time that I don't get enough protein. I am always under my recommended numbers in that category.

oK, so I've stopped eating at 7pm since last Thursday and have not had any cookies or candy or soda, and yet today my jeans are tight as heck and I'm bloated. WTF?

You took the first step....it's okay....you have to remind yourself that "I didn't put it on overnight, it isn't coming off overnight".

Increase your water intake, journal what you're eating and see if there are any surprises. That's the first start of many.

I'm glad to see some new faces in here too. More of us taking care of ourselves.

I have done dieting on and off over the years. WW for me is the only one that teaches me WHAT I can eat and how to go to parties, bars and restaurants without blowing everything. They teach you real life eating and they get the triggers that cause us to emotional eat and try to work on ways to address those. It's never humiliating because EVERY person in that room on meetings has been in the same place in one time or another. It's a great support system.

I have been sick for over a week. I finally went to the doctor and got some antibiotics and some cough syrup with codeine. Between being just warn out and also being very sensitive to medications, I slept until 12:30pm today. I'm so glad I was off today because I couldn't have gotten up to save the world. I was just absolutely wiped. I took the cough medicine twice...once when I went to bed and once at 2am when it wore off. I couldn't get out of bed this morning.

Unfortunately, it's going around my house so we've all got at least a little bit of what I got. Nothing like sharing.

I haven't worked out in over a week because I've been sick but I've stayed on task. I'll get back to moving as soon as I feel better.

Hope everyone else is doing well this week....

I found this website today. Calculates the nutritional content of Chipotle burritos and stuff.

http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=nutrition_calculator

The calories are not as shocking as the sodium content. DAMN.

It kinda hit me the other day that this is all becoming a habit now- part of my life and routine. I was not feeling well on Monday and still worked out. I didn't even contemplate not doing it. I didn't use feeling ill as an excuse to eat whatever.

I no longer miss my Mc Donald's breakfasts (which I used to eat at least twice a week if not more). I don't even get the urge to stop there anymore! I don't even crave Mountain Dew so much these days, and I thought that was going to be impossible to give up.

Well, after 3 months of trying this diet and that diet, I'm joining WW here at work. I just feel plain icky and I think I'm getting a bubble butt...Wish me luck as I've got 50 lbs to lose.

I'll be checking back in from time to time here to let you know how's it going.

You guys can do it...I'm a WW gal and I'm down 37.5 so far. I've got another ten lbs to go to hit goal. I've been sick for the last nine days so I haven't been working out but I do otherwise. Post here often....it really does help. We're all in this together.

I am doing the points thing, started after Dday to regain some self worth.

I need to loose about 100 lbs if I want to get to the recommended weight (blah blah) but I think the national #'s are crazy. I was a stick in high-school and have a fair ammount of muscle under the fat now. I figure I really need to loose 60 to 80 to look 'good'.

After 6 weeks I have lost 22 lbs and feel a little better about me. Gave up pop, limiting salt and processed foods. Trying to eat small meals every 2 hrs to boost my metabolism.

Hey .....we got a guy in here. Welcome !!!! Don't let this group of women scare you off....we are the most supportive group out there and we'll keep you moving with us.

22 lbs is great....just remember to set mini goals so you don't feel overwhelmed with the actual number. I've got 48 lbs minimum total and am down 37.5 so far. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it.

Welcome, welcome, welcome...what is your next change for the next week to take care of you? What new thing will you add to your regimen?

I've been sick for almost ten days so I'm making sure I get back to working out as soon as I feel up to it. I am also going to get better with my water. I'm good when I work out but have backed off on the water since I've been sick. That's my goal for next week.....if I ever get past this cold. My head is still killing me tonight.

Welcome....though....welcome. I'm glad to see you're taking care of YOU .

Hope everyone else is doing well.....

I've been on this mission to learn to eat out without blowing my diet. I have taken to previewing menus online before I go out and planning what I will eat so when I get to the restaraunt I can focus on having a good time. And of course for a lot of chain places there's nutrition info already online so I don't even have to spend time figuring it out.

Today was lunch out with my friend from work. We went shopping and then grabbed Noodles and Co on the way back to the office.

I got:

Cucumber and tomato salad 100 calories

Small Chicken Noodle Soup 170 cals

Ciabatta Roll 170 cals

The salad is soooooo tasty- and there's no evil lettuce in it Just cukes and tomatoes and red onions in a light dressing.

I got so much yummy food for so few calories. Wow!

But if you really want to be decadent, a small order of the mac and cheese at Noodles is less than 500 calories. ( I think it's like, 470 or something) I could easily have gotten that without blowing my diet today. Hmm... maybe next time.

Hia's ladies,

Thanks for the words of encouragement SWounded.

I am 6 weeks in and am already doing 28 to 31 activity points per week. Even though I am over weight I have always been active with hiking and my job had consisted of doing heavy labor in construction. All of my 'physicals' have come back as being perfectly healthy, I'm just 'double extra large'.

I am at 36 food points per day but am limiting myself to 34 before hitting my 'freebee' points to keep the weight loss moving along. I am currently looking into a gym membership for flexibility training or yoga/pilaties classes but am having little luck as I am in a small town.

SO, thats my plan right now, increase time excersizing as I loose weight and keeping firm control of the food points.

I just bought a pilates CD from Walmart with a band in it for stretching and strengthening. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it but I like it. It was also only about ten dollars. You can try there for one.

It's got a breakdown of workout for various parts of the body and for flexibility. You can do any of it or all of it.

Keep up the good work. You seem very focused and that's important to staying on program.

I've been sick for ten days with a cold so I haven't been working out but plan to get back on task tomorrow with that. I had an URI so it was hard to stay working out. I've been pretty good with points in spite of eating out.

We've got a cold snap coming here again so my outside working out is not going to happen. I'll go back to the clubhouse and do the elliptical this weekend.

Hang in there guys....we're all in this together.
