Cook Kodi, let us know how you like it. I started with the food in my house as well. I couldn't dump what I had because to me that's too wasteful and expensive. Then I started to buy more fruits and veggies.
I weigh in tonight and this will be my second week. The first week I lost 1 lb. I hope tonight the scale says "2lbs".

Is there another plan that people of having success with?
Kodi, check out bodyforlife.com. It's extremely goal and deadline orientated, which sounds like what you're looking for. The plan generally works in 12 week increments, and if you still need changes in your physique, you re-asess your goals for the next twelve. I'll be honest. It's a little hard-core. The creator is Bill Philips; bodybuilder, and CEO of EAS, a sports supplement company. But results? Oh, I promise you in 12 weeks you won't recognize your own reflection in the mirror.
Keep it up, everyone!

Glad to see this thread is still going. Haven't been around here for the past 6 weeks - lots of challenges (some good, some - not so much). I didn't gain - but I didn't lose. And that is after two weeks in Italy!!!!!
Last week, I started back on program with water, exercise and good eating choices. I FINALLY broke my plateau. I'm now down 16 lbs and I am feeling great. I still have much more to lose but I'm just setting small goals so I don't become overwhelmed.
Thanks to everyone posting here - it has kept me going when typically, I would have given up a long time ago.

Last night was my first weigh in -3.4
I think I got into a crumy group. The leader was never more than 150 and she is not very friendly or motivating. It seem,s very much a "job" to her. She reads what she is told to the whole time repeating "this is what they want me to say"
I had to ask for my week 2 materials. knowing it's only my 2nd week I was not givin any guidence or asked if I have any questionsabout the plan, and I do.
If I get all my info from the message boards why go there and pay 12.?
Whats your guys experience w/ meetings? Is it worth me driving to the next town for a different possibly more lively group?
I just think 48. a month could be better spent if all I am going to get is an accurate weight check.

dis, I think having a good leader can make a world of difference. Definitely try a different one. I had a really good leader a long time ago and the one at my local place now is nowhere near as good. Do you have e-tools? You can get a monthly pass for 40 a month and that gives you unlimited meetings in a month and all the online tools. You can see how you do with that and then switch to online only if you like (65 for 3 months.)
CB, welcome back! How was your trip??? I'm dying to go to Italy. one day I hope.
Everyone is doing so great! Even if you haven't lost much this week, the fact that you are here and trying to get healthier is huge!
We are all fabulous!

Kudos to everyone! I'm two weeks into this and I'm hoping to stay strong.
Truthfully, I'm feeling ignored here and maybe its because I'm new at this and just want someone to share some excitement with me.

Clicky, don't feel ignored! I don't do WW, never have, so I don't give (can't give) advice on that. If you wanna chat about exercise, feeling deprived/hungry, your weight or size goals, count me in.
I think you're doing fabulous, btw.

I want to chat about it all!
I am just trying to do this on my own, not WW yet. But I'm still learning and experimenting so I like to know what others are doing and how they did it.

I don't have any great advice or if I did I would not need WW lol. Ask me anything I will tell all, whats working for me and whats not.
Exercise, I have a total gym (the good one not the walmart one)and it's great but it's been a few weeks since I used it
Playing Wii and playstation eye cam video games are working out good for me. So is walking w/ my camera and ipod.
WW meetings, I have gained nothing from.
WW core plan is a mircle, really. Now, I have to force myself to eat to make the noise coming from my stomach stop. My cravings used to bring me to finish off everything in sight, like whole pizzas a few slices at a time and full bags of chips. Eating natural foods, for me, is the way to go!!! Fruits and veggies, eggs, lean meats, fat free dairy and healthy oils like Olive oil or canola.
My fantasies of being handcuffed to the treadmill untill I am healthy again have subdued
*edited to add...lots of water!
no sugar, very little foods made with refined floor. Not even to use my weekly 35 extra indulging points on.
I use the extra points for things like corn tortias w/ tacos (1 point) or ww roll for a pressed sandwich (2 points) a pat of butter in my oatmeal (1 point) and so on.

The core plan is very easy because it's either on the list or it's not. Eat untill full from the core list. If you add things like a creamer in your coffee instead of fat free milk count the points and keep your points under 35 a week.
Also see what I edited above, it may help.
Heres my favorite
Corn tortia sprayed with cooking spray griled on both sides.
spread avacodo on it some strips of steak (I use bottom round cooked in a wok) topped w/ fat free cheese lettuce tomato onion or whatveer veggies you like...1 point.
Steak, eggs and 1 small potato shredded and grilled into hashbrowns...core meal.
check out the ww message boards too.

mom gave me the booklet
haha my Mom did too, it took me over a year before I became interested in it though. I never wanted to have to pay someone to tell me to eat healthy and exercise. I never wanted to keep food journals charts scales grids and whatever else stupid thing we do to lose weight.
Thats why core is working out so good for me. I just stick to whats on the list. I don't feel deprived at all and I was a junk food queen.

Brokenapart (and everyone else too
)
Trip to Italy was unbelievable. We took our sons (16 and 20 year old) and another family went with us also. We were on the go non stop from morning to night. We hit the major cities like Rome, Florence and Venice but also spent time along the coast.
We went hiking in the mountains along the coast one day. We hiked 8 miles that day - at times, clinging to the side of the mountain with a straight drop to the sea below us. Not for everyone but we loved it.
The point of this story is that I could NOT have maintained such a pace, especially the hiking had I not lost some of the weight and had been on a consistent exercise routine for two months prior to the trip. I certainly would not have enjoyed myself as I did.
Again, here's to everyone here who keep me motivated!!!!!

CB, sounds like a wonderful trip! Last summer I went hiking and biking w/ SO and I was in terrible shape (and carrying all that extra weight didn't help!) This summer I want to do that again and this time I'm determined to take those hills.
I ate weirdly today - had an ultrasound in the morning so I didn't eat breakfast. Had 6 pts all day with applesauce & a pretzel stick for snack. Then went out to dinner w/ SO for pizza. I got chicken breast, peppers and tomatos and no sauce. It's a local trattoria and they don't use much oil. Way too many carbs today, but I've cut out almost all fat until I get my gallbladder straightened out.
I really need to get back to crunches - I'm a flabby mess! Can't wait til I can do that again.
Hang in there everyone. Keep making healthy choices and keep moving.
