I just don't think my guts can handle anymore broccoli/cauliflower/carrots. Seriously, I am so bloated and I feel like a turtle.

Air-popped pop-corn is even better. I see the air-popper that were all the rage in the late 70's and early 80's on e-bay for super cheap. AND if you eat a lot of popcorn, you end up saving a ton of dough this way, because a bag of kernels is only like a buck and you get oceans of popped corn from it. Versus a box of micro corn which is...well, a rip-off.

We do own a popper, but I rarley use it. I'm really trying to keep my carbs on the lower end. If I'm gonna splurge, it will be on some warm, crusty Italian bread. Dunked in imported extra virgin olive oil. Mmmm...

Any ideas on snacks that are 0 or 2pts. that I can eat?

Well, veggies are the only "real" zero point foods. There are other things you can eat that are technically 0, but have to limit them to a few a day or count them. I count stuff like 1/2 c berries for a half point.

My low pt snack ideas:

1) frozen strawberries & grapes.

2)yogurt. WW yogurt & dannon light & fit are both 1 pt - but they have artificial sweeteners.

Stonyfield's nonfat yogurt is 2 but has no artificial stuff.

3) Coleslaw mix - with nonfat or a tbsp of canola mayo, redwine vinegar, garlic pepper, diced red pepper, a pinch of celery salt & lemon juice.

4) pickles (but watch the sodium.)

5) sliced cucumbers in cider or red wine vinegar with salt and cracked pepper.

6) Wasa rye crisp with hummus & tomato or cucumber slices.

7)Wasa crisps with a little pb& lo-sugar jam.

8)Carrots, cukes, jicama with hummus.

9) homemade sweet potato fries - diced sweet potatoes tossed with a tsp evoo, salt, pepper, paprika. (some like it w/ cinamon instead.)

10) egg white omelet filled with veggies. Add a laughing cow cheese for a gooey version.

11) Sautee onions, pepper, mushrooms and tomatoes in a nonstick pan with cooking spray or a tsp of evoo. Dump them into a warmed 1 pt whole wheat pita. Add a little lowfat cheese if you want to use another point.

12) Mix 1/4 cup frozen corn, 1/4 can drained, rinsed black beans, 1/4 cup diced red pepper and 1/4 can diced tomatoes with garlic & oregano (or add cilantro to fresh diced.) Dump it in a warmed corn 4-inch corn tortilla or a la tortilla 1 pt tortilla.

13) Motts natural applesauce with fiber (comes in fruit flavors.) (50 cal, 3 grams fiber.)

14) Trader Joe's fiberfull fruit bars (like fruit leather.)

You know, what really worked for me is to cut out "snacking" altogether, except for scheduled cheat day. Four to six meals, no longer than 3 i/2 hours between each. Each meal includes both a protien and a slow-burning complex carb. Like, if you wanted fruit for a snack (fruit is really one of the worst carbs to eat but) cut the portion in half, and have eggwhites or cottage cheese with it. A complete meal, that actually assists the body to burn bodyfat. Monitoring your carbs (note I didn't say cut them) sucks, but it works. Fast.

I'm not in WW, never have been, and just wish to add a suggestion re: snacks.

I was walking down the organic bin food aisle of Raley's the other day.

Besides dried fruit, there are sesame snacks, Asian crackers, etc.

This really helped me when I quit smoking before.

Yay!! I wore my new skinny jeans to work today and several people came up to tell me how thin I looked.

I'm not supposed to wear jeans to work but I only worked a half day and I said "what the heck." Besides - most of my pants don't fit me and I didn't have anything else to wear.

Had a crazy day running around and ate too much fast food on the go - whopper jr w/o cheese or mayo for lunch in the car - grabbed a salad at the cart downstairs on my way into work and ate it at my desk with a little light dressing.

Grabbed deli sandwiches on the way home from work for dinner - dropped one off for DS at home, picked up DD & she ate hers in the car on the way from one game to another... Ate mine on the run with an apple.

Eating healthier really does work! Except for the burger today, I've really cut out the white carbs, non-fruit sugars (no fruit juice either.) and most of the sat fat. I feel better and I've dropped 2-3 sizes.

21 pounds gone - 6.5 to goal.

Started exercising again yesterday - walked for 45 minutes and did 45 minutes of stretching/toning exercises. Abs are sore today so I know it's working.

I am sore in places I didn't know I had.

Its just after session 2 of pilates, we meet 2x per week and I am doing strength training/cardio on the off days.

I feel totally whipped, but good in a streatched out way.

My weigh in was +1 lb, but it may have been muscle gain, not sure. The good news is that I am getting a lot of nods from the girls at work, so I know I am slimming down. I have started wearing shirts I haven't been able to fit in for the past 5 yrs, and even our MC said I looked much thinner in the face.

I'm down 39 lbs as of today....I haven't been as diligent with all the sickness and stress I've had in the last month but I'm not totally off the wagon. I'm not gaining anyway. I'm getting back on after I go to the grocery store this tomorrow when I get off work.

Thanks for all of your support the last few days...it's meant a lot to me and has helped me not to do emotional eating.

I broke down and joined a gym last night. Sucked big time to come home and be sore all over, but this morning I feel better. I must like pain, because I've committed to cardio 6 days a week with strength training 4 days.

When I began ballet lessons at the ripe old age of 12, the pain was incredible!

I would float home after class.

It was from the endorphin "rush"-- not the pain.

Good morning all!

I made myself exercise last night. My abs weren't happy but I didn't want to take off 2 nights from the crunches. For the first time in a really really long time I have a waist and I want to keep it! 6.5 pounds to go - I can't believe it that I've lost and that I'm actually shrinking into a figure that I like.

I mean, I've been happy enough with my body - not really body images, but now I actually like it!

I have more energy and I'm looking forward to getting out and hiking this summer.

Yeah, I like how mine is so strong, especially for a tiny person. Do you know that I can do 6 pull-ups?

While in FL, I discovered something else about myself. I'm waaaaaay too critical of my physique. I watched these other *much* less-than-perfect bodies romp around in varying degrees of undress with no qualms whatsoever. Why do I feel afraid to leave the house unless I'm in a mumu if I have an extra piece of pie once a week?

6 pullups is awesome! I don't think I've ever done won!

But my DS tells me that she beats the boys at it in gym.

Well, Saturday morning and I'm off to a decent start. Had my kashi golean with skim milk and sliced peaches for breakfast. I love frozen fruit. I can buy a few bags and stick it in the freezer and then I know that I've always got some fruit when the fresh supply is low.

It looks gloomy here - about to rain, so I'm not sure if I'll get a walk in. I may actually have to take the clothes off my x-bike and use that!

How's everyone doing?

For a limited time..

If you're using sparkpeople, I created a sparkpage. You can see my "before" shots from last summer. I think I'd gained a few more by the time I started WW!

Thanks ann! I still have work to do - but I'm getting there.

I HATED those pics from last summer!

But I had just hiked up a mountain in one, and biked 7 miles in the other, so at least that's something, right? I almost died doing that last summer - I was in horrible shape. This summer is going to be a different story.
