Last year I asked my fellow SIers about recommending a book to read. Well someone suggested firefly lane by Kristen Hannah.
It's been more than a year ago that I read it. I passed it on to a friend to read and she finally got around to reading it.
I loved the book when I read it. My friend just called and she loved it too. We both talked about how we cried and how descriptive kristen Hannah is and we felt like we were there
I went on to read mystic lake. Loved it
Then winter garden - omg loved it
I read her newest book night road and it was good. Not my favorite, but good.
Anyway If you are looking for a good summer read inhighly recommend Kristin Hannah.

No it doesn't matter. They're all good reads. Firefly lane was the first book I read by her and she talks about music and intertwined it into the story and I identified with the music because it was stuff I listened to when I was younger. Let me know what u think about whichever book u choose. Enjoy

This was the first book I'd read by Hannah, and to be honest, I really struggled with it at first. The beginning seemed so contrived and drawn out to me.
But the middle/ending of the book - WOW. THAT'S how she should have written the entire book. The drivel in the beginning about the sisters' relationships and stuff was unnecessary.
I may try another, though.
She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.

I have to agree Cat. In my opinion each of her books starts a little slow, but as you continue to read the book it really draws you in. With Winter Garden I almost quit reading it, but I knew that since I had read a couple of her other books I realized that she starts most of her books (at least the ones I have read) a little slow and it quickly picks up pace about the middle and continues to the end - I usually can't put the book down once I reach the middle of the book.

So, I went to the library today and took out a Kristen Hannah book because of this thread.
I had to go with Between Sisters because of my feelings towards my sister lately, the title just grabbed me. I'm looking forward to starting it (I have a few others first) and checking out this author.
I also took out The Help, which a woman in the library said was great. I recommended Room to someone who was looking and she checked it out. I love books.
My Kindle is going to be neglected for awhile. I'm just in a read an actual book kind of mood lately. Maybe because it's summer reading time!
DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

That was actually me.
Glad you concurred, though.

I just started Mystic Lake. That's a triggery start to that one!
I'm ok with it this far out but anyone newer to infidelity might want to approach with caution.

I've read several of Kristen Hannah's books and really enjoyed them all, though I agree that they tend to start a little slow.
