Squee!
I obsessively checked my Kindle until 3 this morning, waiting for the book to download. I have all three kids home today, which is SEVERELY interrupting the quiet which I require to read.
We have a doctor's appointment for Tapper's kindergarten shots in 30 minutes. After that, I'm taking the darlings to stuff their adorable little gullets with McNuggets and letting them loose to terrorize other kids on a playscape while I start reading. We may eat supper there too, just because.

Whew! I finished!!!
It took longer than I had anticipated, but I finished it this morning. I received the Kindle download at 3:10 yesterday morning and managed to read for 3 hours prior to zonking out.
It's a shocker. Unless someone specifically asks for details, I'll refrain from giving spoilers.
(ETA: because I've had too little sleep.)

I'm still stuck on this idiotic KJ Parker book. ::sob::
I can't imagine what a shocker would be. I'm hooked on this series just because it's been nothing *but* shockers. I gasped out loud when Eddard was actually executed at his own execution.
Edited on 7/21 to add:
There's a George RR Martin thread elsewhere in this forum I just read and someone else used the same phrase: "executed at his own execution."
Not sure if I cribbed it or we're just in the same headspace. Yikes.

Do you know that from an ADOD spoiler, or did I just totally misread AFFC? That guy was saying he buried the Hound - didn't even occur to me that he might be the Hound.
(re The Hound)
It's in AFFC but it's subtle. The monk describes how his former self dies and is reborn as a monk and then he goes on to tell about finding the Hound, hearing his confession and then the Hound dying. I think the words were "the man you knew as the Hound is dead." Then he asks Brienne to leave the man in peace.
The brief description of the gravedigger and how the dog was very friendly to him (and no one else) tipped it. The Hound always liked dogs because he could understand them.

I obtained it and read the end, so I know what happens in the last 3 chapters. And especially the very *last* shocker...boy, do I know some professional ASOIAF readers who are absolutely full of themselves with their own rightness and taunting the naysayers with evidence of their inferior analytical powers.
If anything goes on with Jaime, Brienne, Tyrion, or Arya, PM me. =)
It nagged him, in particular, that none of the girls he’d known so far had given him a sense of unalloyed triumph.
