it just doesn't anymore. OW has been taking on more 'responsibility' for my kids ... she has had to drive them to sports etc, or cook for them, watch them on a Saturday while STBXWH works.

I don't love it, but a part of me is like, welcome to REALITY baby...

My SO is visiting next weekend, and OW and STBXWH have 100% responsibility for the kids... about time right?

I'm sure my Ex's new soul mate never counted on a kid and 2 dogs when he decided to take on the role either--but tough shit--that's part of the package.

I'm glad you are getting some "me" time. You deserve it.

Let her experience the "real deal"

Because, while I adore my kids, teens can be annoying, difficult, contrary, etc....lol.

Good! I'm glad to hear it! It's about time he shouldered some of the responsibility, and if she has to do so as well, even better.

Yeah, as much as the idea of having the OW take care of my three kids makes me feel ill, I also think, "Good luck, honey. I'm sure you'll think they're a blast when they're fighting every five minutes and shrieking loudly enough to wake the dead."

Enjoy your well-deserved free time. Go get a pedicure for me, would you? Boy, I would love one right now!

I hated that the OM used to watch my kids while my XWW was at work and they were at her house. Then one day, my DD called me up hysterical to come pick her up. She told me that she had a fight with her brother over chores and the OM was being mean. I talked her down and she calmed down some, but was still crying. She then said, "OM wants to talk to you" and handed me the phone before I could say anything. He sounded so in over his head with an 11-year old girl who is a little bit of a drama queen. I told him that I do not care about him and just put my daughter back on the phone. I had to drop some stiff off to her anyways, so I told her that I would be there in 10 minutes. When I got there she was better. I told her to go back inside and do her chores. She said that the OM already did them. She then said, "Daddy, I think that I scared OM." I did not let her see me, but I laughed on the way back to my house. I thought to myself that if he wanted my life, he finally has it. The difference is that I know how to handle MY kids and they would NEVER act like that to me.

Moody, cranky, bored, whining, fighting hormone-filled teenagers (and pre-teens) are exactly what the OPs were thinking about when they thought our lives were what they wanted to live. Right? I wonder why the relationships usually collapses within the year when "playing house" becomes real life.

X and OW broke up, but the last several months I quit being bothered by it. She got my asshole ex, and had to babysit for me, for free, every other weekend, after late nights at work. This amused me a bit.
