Ok, I finally have my travel schedule, and it looks like I'll be in town that weekend.

Can someone PM me the detailed itinerary when it's known?

I still have things I'll need to do, so I won't be able to attend everything, but we'll see what I can do.

Thanks!

Take care of yourself. There's a great future out there. It won't come to you; you have to go to it.

I have a similar desire for the itinerary, so I'm requesting the same PM.

Or just post it. Thanks.

Would love the PM on the itinerary as well. I will have Friday evening or Saturday until mid-day to zip over and say some hey-howdy's to everyone.

Unfortunately, after examining the financials, SilverRose and I will not be able to make it. We were really hoping to be able to make it, but we would be budgeted tighter than Scrooge's purse strings. We are sorry for not being able to get there, and hope the rest of you have a great weekend.

Looking for some guidance.... It's probably too late to get a room at the designated hotel, and it's way more than I want to spend anyway. I'm looking at earning or spending some Marriott points either out by the airport or on the Illinois side and the answers to my question could help me decide.

1) What's the parking sitch by the Arch - is it difficult to find space? The info I have is $6 for 9 hours - is that true? Or would it be better to take Metrolink? On the whole, is Metrolink a feasible option for Saturday or not?

2) Is Saturday evening's entertainment going to be by the Arch/Laclede's Landing?

3) Is anything planned for Friday evening? If not, are other folks besides us interested in getting together on Friday night? (Low key preferred.)

Thanks.

Sisoon, .I want to hang out Friday night! Parking is ok by the Arch...really depends on the weather. And the Metro does go right to the Arch area...I'm waiting to see hoe much the river rises in the next two weeks....and how much rain we get that weekend. That could change plans for an Arch picnic....but we always have Forest Park, or tons of other options.

And Aubrie....we DO have one thing planned.....Moo's pedi on Saturday morning! Is this a spectator affair, or do we sneak him in and out and just display the results later?

1. I would offer to protect Moo, but he can protect himself, especially Saturday morning.

2. Are other local folks driving to the Arch or Metro-ing?

3. During the 1927 flood (see Rising Tide by John Barry) the water flow in The River was apparently 3 million gallons/minute. I think I'd like to see the river flowing in 2 weeks....

4. Yeah, we ought to have a rain plan for Saturday.

Someone brought up a good point about the picnic that I was wondering too. How will we do the food? I can pick something up, we can grill, etc. Should we all chip in? Let's discuss.

Also brunch for Sunday. Jilly's is good, but expensive and requires a reservation. A normal diner style restaurant would work too, thoughts?

And Friday dinner- it would be somewhere on the Hill (Italian part close to downtown) about 6 or 7?

These are small problems. even if we all show up without food, I suspect we'll be able to figure something out. Thinking ahead may be better, though.

We'll be coming from 300 miles away, so it'll be hard to make something to bring that won't poison anyone who eats it. But we don't know the area, so we can't promise to buy fresh stuff in locally to bring.

(Besides, the best food I know is ice cream, and I'm not sure it would make it to the Arch without melting.) As for my W, she has some major food allergies, so it's sometimes difficult for her to eat what everyone else does.

OTOH, we do have the ability to take some sandwiched from here and keep them safely refrigerated for the trip, so I know that would work for us. Besides, our route South goes right by a first-class Jewish deli....

Is there a restaurant onsite, whence we could all pick stuff up to eat al fresco?

Can we drink wine in the park by the Arch? (Or should it be whiskey, like Lewis and Clark? Or does it have to be beer, in Busch's honor?)
