My ds was in an all day DI tournament on Sat (made it to states!), my SO came over to watch my dd8 pretty much all day. She was in heaven, undivided attention all day. He really enjoyed himself too as he one has one son, always wanted more kids, esp a girl and well, things happened in his marriage that precluded having more kids. So anyway, I get this email during the tournament that Addie is involving him in a huge craft project (he hasn't done crafts in YEARS w his son) and they ended up making a bday card for her father and a Happy Anniversary card for ex and wifetress I guess better him than me And I swear, he was just as proud of his handiwork as she was and kept reminding me to look at it before I dropped it off w the kids at ex's house.

I wonder what ex thought when dd told him who helped her

I guess we've done a good job hiding our animosity towards each other that my dd thinks nothing of getting my SO to help her make things for my ex.

That is awesome!

12/18/15 found out my now EX boyfriend was trolling CL for underage girls. From the cops. The fun never stops.

I love this post. It's good to see the world through a kid's eyes.

I loved reading this! I have so much admiration for parents who can put their anger about what happened in the marriage aside and think of their kids.

Your children are so very lucky. And your SO sounds wonderful too.

That's a great story and a wonderful example of putting the children first. I admire you very much.

thanks everyone, this is part of my reward for all the times I've almost bitten off my tongue. I just hope it never backfires because I've "hid" things from my kids.

Good job! - to both of you.

I know my dad was shitty to my mom the last years of their M. However, I am so grateful that they managed to co-parent well.

If I had had to choose sides, I would've had to side with my mom. I wouldn't have a relationship with my Dad now. I love him. I know he's pretty messed up in some ways but he's not a bad dad. You've done your kids such a huge thing by being such an awesome mom

and way to go SO!
