Sprinkle large amounts of salt onto said leech and it will fall off.
You've just described the SI recipe to stop cake-eating - add enough salt to the cake so it is no longer palatable.
if one is particularly stubborn, light a match
And this describes and SI-ism well before my time. The term DIAF (Die In A Fire!) is no longer allowed.
Leeches still feel too noble. They are used for medicinal purposes. I'm sticking with the universally loathed parasite.
And NMAI,
hey, that sounds familiar. ......kind of like......an affair.
Bingo!
I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

They are used for medicinal purposes.
Correction: were. Well, maybe some 3rd world countries still use them. But you're right about the parasite--everybody hates those.
But the difference as I see it is: The LEECH feeds on you until there's nothing left, and you die. There is no concern for you whatsoever.
The PARASITE at least allows you to live so it can live also. From wikipedia regarding parasites: "Parasites reduce host biological fitness by general or specialized pathology, such as parasitic castration and impairment of secondary sex characteristics, to the modification of host behaviour. Parasites increase their fitness by exploiting hosts for resources necessary for their survival, e.g. food, water, heat, habitat, and transmission."
You may be onto something.

I'm not dead. You're not dead.
I rest my case.

Very thoughtful insights nomistakeaboutit -thankyou. I think you may be right on the money.
This "feeding"' concept interests me.
I have never thought my WH malicious, but the "need to feed" makes sense to me. It is inbred, insatiable, takes precedence of anything and anyone.
His personality pathology requires a "supply" -somewhere, somehow, with someone. I am trying to learn how to not be his groceries-ever again.
True remorse isn't followed by a "but".
