Just wondering Trumanshow if your WH ever linked his cell to the computer for calender events or updating software.

The cell automatically updates the computer of all activity.

Data recovery in my neighborhood is about $90 hour. It takes about 2 hours to recover from an average hard drive. You will need an other external drive to receive the info.

If so, there is a plenthora of info sitting there in SMS Messages Database. Go to 'Users' to find his data then go to 'Downloads' and you will find the particular cell icon. Click on that and look for SMS files. Sometime you will find individual threads but there will be a 'database' that will carry all the threads. Don't be put off by the diamonds and questions marks, keep scrolling...you will hit paydirt. And it you can get his cell or a cell of similar make, you can hook it up to the computer and download the files on to it. That cell will sing like a bird! All of the info will come up normal, just like chat threads.

Mr. Happy did not understand this concept. This is why I could go back and read blow by blow conversations that happened in '05!

If he is using a blackberry you will need the cell device to read the texts because the device is the cypher.

And if you have a PC it is easier to read past messages because the Andriod and the Blackberry use the PC operating system.

Not that you want to open that can of worms...but it can be illuminating.

The level of betrayal that occurred...the blase' attitude...the complete understanding of the deception between the two of them will give you a window into his soul.

No matter how slick he is with minimizing, you will have solid proof of what was being perpetrated in your life by your life partner.

No-it was a work-issued phone. He didn't link to computer-but I did on the sly. I couldn't see specifics since I wasn't paying the bill. But I could and did block all of OW's phone #s and email addies.. This led to his secret phone and my discovery of it

Unless has that phone chained to him it would be conveniently 'lost'. And any phone where the data has been deleted will have a record of all deleted files that can be data recovered.

It has a record deleted files. You can check with the data recovery guys at your local shop. But you will need a passcode.

Call your local shop and ask some specific questions .

If I found an old BB that WH used to text OW, can I get any info off it? I checked the easy stuff ( any saved messages) - nothing :(

Ideas? I have the phone it is fully charged (He hasn't missed it yet......)

Look online for a 'data recovery' shop in your area. Its about a $100 charge to data mine the sd card that is in the phone. You will need the password. This is where you find the erased stuff.

The data recovery only takes about a day or two. Put the charge on his credit card...tee-hee!

In the mean time hook up the phone to your computer with a USB cord and download some software to sync up the phone to the computer. Just type in the make and model of the phone and the words 'sync to *type of computer*. Once you have it synced you can look at the calender, phone numbers, speed dial numbers, notes, photos, videos, all of that. If he did not securely erase the data, it will be in a trash folder in the SMS files.

Anything that has been securely erased may be abel to be data mined. Be sure to call the data recovery shop to make sure they can help you. Tell them what kind of phone you have, and if the sd card is in the phone. It is usually in the back of the phone where the battery is.

Beware though...if there is no sd card, you will not find much of anything. So don't waste your cash!

I haven't read the other replies, but wanted to comment quickly before a luncheon.

You can subpoena Yahoo, but only if you have a divorce, child support, spousal support, visitation, etc. petition pending. You can also have a forensic computer expert search your hard drive, and they can recover a great deal of information. The same goes for a review of the phone, even though the texts were erased.

Found the sd card in the phone - calling a few places today to see what it would cost to have it data mined - and see if I really want to! Not sure if there is a password, but I don't think so. I was able to look around the phone information without entering anything, just turned it on. He used it very early in the A, then switched to an iPhone. Not sure what I'll find, but I'm making myself crazy wondering.

Thanks for keeping us posted.

I know the 'not knowing' was killing me. I have a burning need to understand my own life. So no matter what I found I needed to know.

There was alot of info that he erased when I mined the Apple Timecapsule. Stuff that brought me to my knees.

It also showed me that he was not very original. He used the same dumb lines on all of those stupid whores...And some of them bit...

But you know what else I found? For the most part, alot of nothing. Mr. Happy was working long hours and there was mostly a record of him taking care of business.

The truth does hurt, but my imagination was making things far worse than what it really was.

At least now I have all the knowledge that I could possibly have. I will have to be content with that. And I feel that I have a starting point from which to heal from.
