Dear SI'ers who are experts in every field,

A good friend of mine in the mid-West is looking for someone to help with his wife's website. Below I've pasted exactly what he wrote, because I don't understand it myself.

If anyone has any suggestions will you please post them here or PM me?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you know ANYONE with the web site

computer skills that we could employ to work on (wife)'s web site??? Please!!!

We are having no luck at all and we are seriously slipping from Page ONE on

both Google and Yahoo after all of these years!!!!!!!!!! Bummer!!

We need someone that is skilled on Javascript, Html5 and Flash. In addition we

need someone that is capable of creating an Ecommerce site (2 actually) for her

web site which would require knowledge of software programs like "WordPress"

or "Joomla." With all of your friends and contacts...Hopefully you might know

just the right person and save us!!!

We set up our own website with Word Press, and it was fairly simple.

My H has more computer skills than I, and I just make suggestions what should be on the site, and he adds it. We did this basically on our own. He talked w/ a friend who is an IT guy, and sets up other websites, and he gave my H the quick and dirty on how to get going.

He got it done on a snowy sunday earlier this year.

Feel free to visit it.

Thanks for the info, Tushnurse. I think my friend has handled the website for his wife in the past. Sadly, they are both battling cancer right now and neither of them has the energy to do this. That's why he is asking for help.

Does it need to be someone in the midwest or can it be someone from another area of the country? I know a guy who does this kind of work, but not sure if it can be done long distance?

Have they tried placing a job posting on dice or monster? Or are they looking for someone with a referral from a reliable friend?

Lucky2Have... I am guessing that this can be done remotely. We do a lot of work remotely from my own office, I would assume this could be done remotely also. Any leads are welcomed!

Stillgoing...I believe they would be most comfortable with a referral rather than posting a job onlime, but if it comes to that, it comes to that.

Thanks for your help.

I sent the info you shared with them to see if they are interested. I will let you know what they say.

There are some programmer websites you can post on that are a reverse auction. You post details of the project and scope of work, and then people bid on the work listing their credentials and such.

Your mileage may vary... in accordance with the prophecy.

Do not back up. Severe tire damage.
