why have to pay for someone so evil's living expenses,

I hope that all those affected by his actions can find peace

I do feel bad for the girls in this case.

They were imprisioned for 11 years. He will not have to be in prision that long, he is dead.

In some ways, relief that they would never have to face him again would be felt. On the other hand, he's not sitting in jail rotting away. This end is to good for him imo.

So he was basically in protective custody in a cell all by himself where guards made the rounds every 30 minutes and he was not on suicide watch.

Seems a bit fishy to me.

What did he hang himself with? How did it get in his cell and left un-noticed?

Not that I care he's dead...personally I would have liked to see the general population at the prison have about 1 hour with him. He deserved to suffer and hanging doesn't take nearly long enough to inflict pain and mental anguish...in my opinion.

I read that he hung himself with his bed sheet.

And that they tried to revive him.

I hope they didn't try too hard.

My soul struggles with the feeling of relief for someone's death, but I do feel relief. I hope his victims aren't even more traumatized by this. I don't know what complex feelings they might have and what they might need the most for recovery, so I pray that this doesn't interfere with their healing and that maybe they feel that one dangerous soul has left the world.

Won’t pretend that I shed a tear or mourned his death. ..

But it does raise one question in my mind: What made him chose to die? I hope it was his conscience because – if nothing else – it might indicate a realization and a grasp of the concept that what he did was wrong. At least I hope his victims can see it that way.

Im guessing he did it because he is a coward, and facing a lifetime in prison was too much for him. He held those girls for 10 years...he couldn't handle 10 months.

I pray for those girls and their families. I hope today they have peace.

I'm sure the girls mostly feel relief.

As just a very small comparison I had a coworker who threatened me physically and about a year after I fired him he killed himself. I know this is terrible but I felt GREAT because I didn't have to look over my shoulder anymore. He was just GONE.

Even though Castro was in prison the irrational side of those girls had to always wonder.... now it is just OVER.

Good riddance.

I wouldn't be. I have pretty radical views though, so i won't really go there.

I think that he saved the tax payers a lot of money, those girls a lot of strife, and the prison a lot of grief for him being in there.

Last night when I heard I was considering posting "only a thousand years to go".

I read that he hung himself with his bed sheet.

And that they tried to revive him.

I hope they didn't try too hard.

I hope they pounded on him real hard while attempting CPR. I hope they actually revived him and kept going "just to be safe".

Here is one time when I don't think too many people care that this person is gone. I don't believe even his own children care.

As far as death being too good for him, so would sitting in jail the rest of his years, probably being allowed a TV and other things. There could be no way to REALLY get justice for what he did, so IMO death is best because it will cost the taxpayers less.

Too bad he didn't do it before kidnapping the first girl.
