9/11/01 was the year the United States was devastated by what happened...
My husband is a pilot, so it affected me more than some. Fortunately for me, MY pilot was home when that happened.
But it affected us and our lives in subtle ways.
My dday ended up being on 9/11 as well. In 2008, several years later.
So, now that date has dual meaning for me.
Coming up on two years from dday now...
On TV and on radio, they mention the date, and there are several specials scheduled.
It is just a day that I would rather not remember, since my husband is a pilot. I would also like to forget the date, because it is also my dday.
Can we just skip that day this year?
No, you are right, we can't.
I will make it through...Please send me positive thoughts and prayers, if you can...
no, I can't take one more step towards you...cuz all that's waiting is regret...
there's just too much that time cannot erase
dday 9/11/08
And the more I know, the less I understand
Because of you...I am afraid...

I will never figure this out.
Because it makes no sense.

Breathe, dear. You do not have to regret your sadness. You feel sad, that's okay. And in this case, unavoidable. So, be sad today. Try to be less sad come Friday, okay?

I'm so sorry such a sad day in history became a sad day in your personal life as well!
You're right, there is no way to skip the day. I'm sure many who lost loved ones that day would like to skip it as well. But we must all find our own way of dealing.
I wish you strength this year. The 2nd antiversary is usually pretty hard even when it doesn't carry other sad connotations.
Big big hugs.

(((its)))
It's a difficult day for so many. I'm sorry yours is compounded by it being a d-day. It sucks
It's okay to feel it.
Hugs,
AN
DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

(((itspjw))) Hugs. It's a hard day even without it being d-day. My 2nd anniversary of d-day is coming up at the end of September. It used to be such a beautiful month.
