Anyone read this? I know it's supposed to be interesting, but pretty disturbing...

It's a good read but very disturbing at parts.

What is it about? I'm responsible for choosing the book for my February book club and I'm starting to keep my eyes open because I have no clue what to choose!

I read this a couple of years ago. It's a dystopia story about a sudden pandemic of blindness striking a population, and the resulting treatment of those it strikes. Many parallels to World War II.
I liked it, but found it very intense. It would be a good book for the right book club, not so much for a group that doesn't like to tackle symbolism or intense subjects.
When someone tells you who she is, listen; when someone shows you who she is, listen carefully.

It's pretty disturbing from what I understand...I wouldn't pick it for MY bookclub--
