Kind of been in my own world. Just heard all the hoopla over who may replace Ann as Matt Lauer's co-host. I logged on here to see what other's are saying. This may have been discussed days ago and I am as usual out of the proverbial loop. As the scandal was being discussed on the radio this am about how Matt's wife will leave him if he pushes for Natalie "Whorealis" to replace Ann. My FWH said that's an easy decision and that Lauer should resign. Heard that won't be likely necessary since he gets to choose who replaces Ann. He better make the right decision. I have no respect for Natalie Whorealis as she reportedly has threatened leaving if she does not get the co-host position. What do you all have to say?

I was sorry to see Ann go, I liked her.

Matt Lauer is an ass, regardless if this is true or not. What an arrogant jerk.

I think Ann has handled this with grace and class. When news leaked last week and earlier this week about her supposed departure, you could just see it on her face. When they would do anchor exchanges, she rarely looked at Matt. So much for being a "family."

The Matt/Natalie affair rumor is news to me. I had heard about his Olympic affair, but didn't know who it was with and assumed it was with a production aide. Natalie comes off as such a goodie two shoes and just recently her sons were featured in a Dateline special on kid's safety. Guess I should have looked closer to see if the youngest was a Matt Mini Me.

Lauer's put his wife through the wringer. I'm surprised she hangs in there.

I don't watch the Today show anymore, but way back when Matt was the newsreader while Bryant and Katie were the hosts, Matt always irked me. Simply didn't like him. However Ann has always struck me as genuine and sincere with a good sense of humor and compassion. I guess that no longer flies in network news, which is sad, but only highlights the (reportedly) terrible behavior of her coworkers.

Not that any of us know what happens inside that environment, but it still makes me sad that it appears as if the good person is sacked while the sleazes get off scott free.

I don't care for Matt Lauer. I have no clue about any of the rumors. My issue with him is just the lack of compassion he's shown during certain interviews. It's necessary for a report to ask hard questions, but it doesn't have to be done in such a tone-deaf way.

I love Ann Curry, and in a way I'm glad she's moving on. She's a hard news reporter. Ann has all the gravity that is required to carry a program that deals with more weighty news than an early morning show typically does. I hope she is snatched up by an outlet that recognizes what a quality reporter she is.

When Amy Robach left unceremoniously and popped up on GMA, I found that strange, but her talent was being completely wasted on the Saturday Today broadcast.

I agree, Ann will be in a better place when she has enough time to put some space between this situation and her new role.

Ann's done a ton to raise the awareness of women's issues around the world, and IMO, that's a hell of a lot better than wondering where in the world she was.

Is the Matt Lauer affair stuff common knowledge or rumour? I'd never heard any of it before now.

So tough to watch! I worked with her dad years ago as she was starting out in the business. May his marvelous strength & wisdom be with her from above as she develops the next phase of her career.

Can somebody spell out all the rumors so the slow kid (me) doesn't have to google?

There's drama brewing on Today in the wake of Ann Curry's sudden departure from her co-host seat and it's almost as good as an episode of the Jersey Shore!

Ratings for the morning program have plummeted since Curry took over from Meredith Vieira last year, and as a result, the veteran journalist is being handed a pink slip and Matt Lauer's wife Annette Roque isn't happy about the situation.

She fears the replacement will be none other than Natalie Morales, the woman Lauer was not only accused of having an affair with, but also fathering one of her children.

Morales has been a regular fixture on the show for a few years now and was upset she didn't get the co-host gig after Vieira left. It's now rumored she's threatening to quit the show if she doesn't get the job even though Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb are the front-runners.

Meanwhile, that's not the only threat going around. Roque, reportedly told the NBC host that if Morales gets the job, she's divorcing him.

"When she heard about Ann getting the boot, the first thing she told Matt was that she didn't want him cozying up any closer to Natalie," a source close to Lauer's wife told The National Enquirer. "In fact, Annette drew a line in the sand and said if he pushed show bosses to make Natalie his new co-host, she'd divorce him. Annette knows Matt is the key to the Today franchise and his bosses will put whoever he wants in the co-host chair."

A NBC Universal representative had no comment on Curry or her replacement, but said the talk of Morales, 40, being upset was 'totally untrue'.

But Roque isn't taking any chances and is doing everything she can to ensure Morales doesn't get the job.

Lauer, who is said to have signed a $25 million deal earlier this year to stay with Today, was accused of having an affair with his coworker when they were covering the Winter Olympics in Italy in 2006.

Meanwhile, after only a year on the job, it's said that the network is going over the final details of Curry's severance package from her $10 million a year contract.

I did google it and all I saw was innuendo on gossip sites. There's nothing released by news organizations that vett sources.

I'm withholding judgment on the A talk until there's something out there other than gossip.

If memory serves me it was The National Inquirer that first reported the Edwards/Hunter scandal.

Rumor is that Matt Lauer had an affair with Natalie Morales in 2006-2007 while covering the Olympics in Italy. His wife came close to divorcing him, then changed her mind last minute. Apparently there has been speculation that one of her sons may actually be Lauer's child. At least that's what I've read. I'm not wanting to swallow tabloid and Internet fodder, but there's almost too much out there on this one for there not to be some truth somewhere.

I think Savanah Guthrie is going to replace Ann Curry.

I will miss Ann Curry. I really liked her.
