It depends what kind of reader you're. If you're a type A personality, this might not be the book for you.

Actually, I bought the book. Our MC (who was excellent) trained under her in California
Unfortunately, before I could make use of it I found out we were in false R

I thought it an excellent book for a marriage that was broken. My marriage was fine. My husband was broken. It was not for us, but I could see where it was very good for partners who couldn't communicate.

I bought it at the request of the marriage counselor. I read it, but I just think it didn't really apply to us. It is more for people that seem to have underlying issues that were brought to the marriage that enabled an affair....maybe I'm just not internalizing it correctly???

I personally really liked this book. I found the attachment theory exploration very interesting and relevant.
However, it definitely has the most value for a couple working together on R. I read it last summer during what turned out to be False R. I am more educated and informed but he never so much as read one sentence of anything to heal us.
If you are not in R, then the case studies (spouses 'finally getting it' (and not necessarily all infidelity-related)) might just make you bummed, but I think the overall tenets of the psychology of relationships have a lot of merit.
