I just found out a childhood friend died. His family was the first one I knew of that was affected by infidelity. His father left the family and married the mistress. The mistress-step-mom has been HORRIBLE to the children he had during his first marriage their entire life. My friend struggled with this since he was a preschooler. Now, due to choices he made related to his hurt he has died at a very young age... My heart is breaking!! When I chose to stay in my marriage this friend is one that I think of, because I saw the long lasting impact his father's affair and subsequent marriage to the mistress had on his children's lives. Affairs have ramifications that go on for decades!! I TRULY cannot understand how people can be so selfish!!!!!

I am very sorry for your loss s+++forbrains. You are right, affairs have a very strong impact on anyone who is involved. Unfortunately, those who are in the middle of these actions are not thinking about that.
