She was getting dress for school this morning and it was getting late. I knocked on the door and this is our conversation.
Me: Knock, knock. It's mama.
Her: Ok.
Me: I'm just checking to see where you are (meaning where she is in the process of getting dressed)
Her: I'm on the floor putting my socks on.
Ask a literal question, get a literal answer.
She makes me laugh so much, I don't want to see her grow up. Can she stay 6 and little forever?

Ha- yeah, to be fair- you did ask!!
I'm relieved to know at age 6 they're still funny- my daughter's 4 and at nursery. She came home once and said "Daddy, did you know we're human bees?" so I said "being" she then replied "yes, beeeing. I'm beeing" my 3 year old son then appears, after watching his sister tell me something new and he says "Daddy, I can hold me foot" and he just grabbed hold of his foot, balancing on one leg "I learned this at school" - brilliant haha

they say funny things forever!!
when my daughter was 16 -yes 16 - she asked "where does Dad go everyday?"
I said, "to work."
she thought for a moment and then said, "you mean Dad works during the summer?"
me: "ummm yeah."
I'm a teacher and I guess it didn't occur to her that other people work all year...
