Any time I have time to think about the fact I am going to see my X I have crazy dreams.

DS is graduating in a few weeks and we are finalizing our D. Not surprised to be having them. Normally its the same 2 or 3 dreams. This one was different and weird and didn't involve X but I don't normally dream like this.

I dreamt I was hiking with my darling TG. We encountered an older nice man on the bank of river. It was a wide fast river. I assumed this was the end of our hike and was chatting with the older man about it. TG really wanted to get to the other side b/c there was cool cave up high in the cliffs.

He turned into an elephant. cute elephant almost cartoon like. Then he bounded across the river and scampered up to the cave.

Suddenly I see him fall out of the cave and fear the worst. He's going to be dead on the rocks below. Instead he splashes down into a deep pool of water. He as the elephant comes back nonchalantly and is suddenly back to human form. I hug the old man in relief and we walk back towards the trail head.

WTH is that about????? any dream interpreters out there?

The elephant is your new life that you're approaching. You don't know what form it's going to take, but its going to be ok, whether you make it to the cave or not.

In a notebook describe each symbol and the attributes they had in the dream as well as your personal associations with them. ie. Do you see elephants as wise? Or do you associate them as big things people are in denial about such as 'the elephant in the room'. How does your mind see an elephant?

Then, dialogue with the wise old man and with the elephant.

Start out by writing something like:

Hexed: Elephant, who are you?

Elephant: I am...(Write the first things that come to your mind, stream of consciousness style. Don't think or edit as you do it. Read it back later)

Hexed: (Ask any follow up questions...)

You will be amazed at what can come up when you work with your dreams this way.
