I want to get my mom and grandma something "different" this year - besides flowers or a manicure gift certificate. They are so special to me and I want them to know just how unique they are.

Any ideas? I probably should have asked a few weeks ago because its only days away now.

I'm not creative or crafty, so it would have to be something I can buy.

Here are a couple of ideas that I tink my mother/grandmother would enjoy:

-A lightweight wrap/pashmine (sp) in her favorite blend of colors

-A class that you can take together (something she'd enjoy learning and bonus- time with you)

I'll post more as I think of things.

Amazing shoes--non practical colors or the latest style.. What woman doesn't like shoes?

How about a custom throw from a favorite family picture?

It's only $50, too.

Not sure of the lead time, though....

Godiva chocolates. My mother loves them - she puts the box in the freezer and eats one per day.

My grandmother always just wanted to hear from us, so a card and a phone call. We always got her stuff she could use, like meat in the freezer. Boring, but she lived through the Great Depression and she just did not want anything she thought was frivolous.

Gift certificates for a nice dinner out. Movie tickets. Theatre tickets. My kids got me a Kindle for my birthday a couple years ago - awesome gift. Craft supplies if they are into crafting of some kind.
