Hurting a little today on Mother's Day

Today, I can't help but think about those families who are going out for breakfast and shower their mom for Mother's Day. It makes me sad a little bit.

Yesterday, we had a bit dinner at my mom's and the whole family was there, great fun. But today, I am alone with Romeo. He is an awesome teenager but not very expressive to say the least.

So today, it's kinda business as usual here. My sisters and brother are celebrating mother's day with their own family and on facebook, I see daddy's posts about how awesome the mommy's in their lives are.

I know that I am an awesome mother. With everything that happened to me the last 2 years, I am still semi sane. And Romeo is a great teenager, so well adjusted for a kid who had to grow up so fast. Just a little sad that it's business as usual here.

((juliette)) Same here. My kids all live far away. Got cards and flowers and all that, but it's not the same. Blah. Thank heaven the sun is out.

At least you have the sun. Here it's raining like you wouldn't believe :)

Romeo didn't even acknowledge Mother's Day but he is still making all the laundry.

I guess I am between the ages where you would get an amazing mother's day craft from school and an adult child who says thank you for everything that you did.

(((juliette)))

It's business as usual here, too. H works all day because he's a restaurant manager and it's a big day for them. DD is more interested in WiiU than anything else. I had a can of tomato soup for dinner- AND I even had to microwave it myself!!
