Four years ago today I found out my husband had been having a year long emotional/physical long distance affair with a stranger he had met at a bar while away on business. Although my d-day is the 29th of May, it will always be the Friday night before Memorial Day weekend. I can't believe that four years has passed. In some ways it's been a blur and in some ways it seems like a lifetime. The pain and road to healing has been the hardest thing I have ever faced. Even now, as many of you here, I have good days and bad, but mostly good now. The universe has presented me with a true gift for today. This day for the last three years meant "that day" the day my heart was smashed and my life was changed forever but not anymore. Tonight my beautiful daughter graduates from high school with honors. Four years ago tonight I was crying tears of agony from a broken heart. Tonight I will be crying tears of joy and pride. D-day doesn't get to own this day anymore--my daughter and her accomplishments now over shadow this day forever. I just want to say thank you to everyone here that has helped me along the way over the last few years. Your stories and your courage to share your experiences and knowledge has helped me grow, learn and heal more than you will ever know.
