Meet with new MC yesterday. Really like him. Busted both our chops, held us accountable. Really pressed us for answers. Really seems to be focused on the infidelity. The last MC seemed to focus on the marriage and rug sweep the affair.

Had a real good night with WW afterwards. Watched TV (Game of Thrones, I know good bonding show, right?) then watched the Bruins kick but over Penguins.

A very happy day.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but for right now.....I'll take it.

Good for you! So important to have a good MC. I was just so-so on ours. We have taken a little breather and are working soley on IC now. We will go back to MC though - perhaps even someone new.

Hope things continue to go well for you in MC.

A good MC is so important. I love ours. She's amazing at getting my H to open up, and she has taught me so much about how to approach him so that he feels comfortable opening up. We are communicating better than we ever have and it is 100% thanks to her.

Glad you guys had a good night! One day at a time, right?

Immediately post DDay my WH and I started MC with a very hands off lady. It served a purpose at the time - enabled us a time and space to talk about the A without emotions getting out of hand and enabled each of us to listen to the other. Then my WH had IC in which he never talked about himself only us.

So 5 months out and we have met a new MC and have a first session next Thursday (13th). He had his first IC with a new counsellor yesterday (he was a mess both before and after). I have high hopes for the MC and your story here Yakamishi helps.

I'm not a fan of counselling - have had way too much I feel back in my past (bereavement and dealing with my ex H who was alcoholic and compulsive gambler) - but I guess we need something for us as a couple. I want to R so much with my WH but I also have to get past the bad feelings I have about how much this counselling is costing us. Money that could have been spent on oh so many other things...
