I was in line at the grocery store this morning and there was a hot 40-something guy ahead of me buying "Alimony Ale". I couldn't come up with an opening line, so I blew the perfect opportunity. Gah!
Maybe if I wasn't wearing yoga pants with my hair in a pony tail I would have been more inspired.

You should have put your Rat Bastard bottle of wine on the counter and nodded at him.

I would love to tell you that you should have gone for it, but that would make me a total hypocrite. As soon as I can start making eye contact with a single man for more than 1/26th of a second, then maybe I can start doling out relationship advice.
I love the name of that ale! I should have gotten some for the g2g.

It is Fat Bastard.
That name doesn't make me think of wine, though. It makes me think of Mike Myers's disgusting Scottish character from Austin Powers.
Perhaps someone on SI could start a Rat Bastard Winery?

I'm good at making remarks to people I don't know. I think i would have asked if he was buying it to celebrate or drown his sorrows. But, then, I more than likely wouldn't even have noticed what he had. BUT, if I had........

Haha. As of to prove my point, the guy who came in and sat almost at my table at the place I am having a late lunch and reading on here turned around and jumped when he saw me here. He was on his phone when he came in and sat there. I was just hitting send when he said he didn't realize anyone else was around as he spoke loudly on his phone. ( I was reading and paid no attention to his convo)
I said it's ok. I've only been here a half hour.
Then he asked if I thought it is as warm in here as he thought. I told him it's more likely warm from being embarrassed! He apologized profusely and left with a warning not to text and drive.
