I am so sick its not funny. I have chills then fever then chills again. Heat hurts, throat is on fire, coughing, fainting, dizzy, the works.

I feel like I got hit by a bus, and it happened in about 3 hours.

I am on my period, and while I am good about changing the tampon, I can't help but think this is more.

I told DH that If I am not better in the morning I am going to the doctor, but what do I say? Hey doc, this came out of no where, I hurt worse then any flu has ever felt...could it be TSS. DH wanted to take me to the ER, but then I fell asleep and he didn't want to wake me.

Toxic shock syndrome from tampon use is exceedingly rare now after they changed the make up of tampons. And really only one brand was involved (OB). In my 20 years of clinical medicine I've seen ZERO cases.

Much more likely is that you have a bad summer cold virus. I hate those. So unfair to have a 101 fever on 101 weather days! Blech.

Generally in adults unless you are known to have Influenza we want to see anyone with a fever over 100.4 for 24 hours. Adults just don't run fevers often. High fevers worry us more in adults believe it or not.

So, no more fever (right now anyway) but that could be the Tylenol talking. I sweat so bad that there's a wet outline of where I was last night lol.

I can walk around now without wanting to faint, but my god what a headache I have.

docs office doesn't open until 8 so I have a little while to call, fun times.

Have you been bitten by a tick lately? Also can you touch your chin to your chest? Two options to consider, though not as likely.

made an appointment and then promptly slept through it. by the time I woke up it was too late.

I will run a fever periodically, but not high just 100. Today there's no head ache, but I have an elephant on my chest, like I cant take a big deep breath, and I have the runs...JOY.

I feel really hot, but no fever not sure what that means.

Anywho - still alive and kicking....thanks for all the help, looks like Monday is doctors for sure.

I am alive, but I swear just barely.

Apparently I should have gone to the ER on Thursday when I was really ill....severe case of the flu, like a severe case.

Which transitioned into a double ear infection with sinus infection.

Which has morphed into an upper resporitory infection....

And of course the cherry on top of all this the case of double pink eye to go along with all of it.

The ER doc was really suprised i didnt go to the ER on Thursday, I told her I was not the smartest crayon in the box.

So now i am on eye meds and breathing treatments to help with the coughing and the upper resp. infection.

Fun times...so the moral of the story is....listen to your gut and when in doubt, ER run.

Look after yourself really well, and let others look after you too and do all the right things like fluids, rest, nourishing soups etc You've had a tough time. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Flu is awful and can be so very serious.

Wow, the whole sha-bang!! So glad you saw a doctor, but so sorry you are dealt with such a bad flu.

Thanks guys, seriously. I know as a woman and as a mom i really felt like i needed to 'power' through this and buck up. Its the reason i didnt go to the ER really, because i know that DH really wont 'help' and i will have more crap to pick up and handle after i get to feeling better.

In reality i needed to say 'fuck it' and just let it all go. There would have been an uber good chance they would have admitted me to monitor me and give me mucho fluids....

I am kind of paying for it now, i am exhausted, i swear i dont know how i am making it through the day.
