Well

After lots of thinking I've decided I have to go and at least see one of the puppies I've been drooling over for the last few months!

I'm taking my mother on a day trip to Essex from Wales, I need her to play with the puppy so I can see if it sets off her allergy reactions. It's important to me if I get a dog that my parents can properly have fun with her and not have to steer clear when I pop over. That and they may have to be occasional sitters I guess if i go away.

So, say hello to JJ. She is 10 weeks old.

She isn't a curly coated PWD like I was after but instead is the wavy coated type. She is so adorable though.

She will be there with her sister and maybe one brother so I will have a choice but from the photos she is hot favourite!

Problem is, I can't sleep for toffee...!!

My alarm is set for 6:15am as its a 3 1/2 hour drive and that means I've only got 4 1/2 hours left to sleep and I just can't drop off! Maybe it's excitement, who knows.

I'll let you know how I get on. There's every chance I may be coming home with her tomorrow as I have the cash sitting next to me on my bedside table right now

Ok so now I've taken the water up.

10 pee's and only 2 in the house.......

Woah.... Close one! She just ran around the garden and had a poop then ran inside....

Need to start some serious potty training but at 10 weeks old I'm guessing she doesn't have much control still bless her.

Giving her loads of praise for outside potty. Need some puppy treats rapido!

Yay for puppies. My poodle/golden retriever/King Charles Spaniel mix has been a great source of happiness and company for me. Plus, no shedding!

One training tip that has worked well for all my family is as follows:

When your puppy starts to squat to go potty outside and while they are going start saying "hurry up" or another phrase of choice. Eventually your puppy will associate the phrase with the action and will basically go on command if you say the phrase. It can be very helpful.

Enjoy your new baby!

Thanks guys

So first night is upon us

I am currently sleeping on my parents sofa with JJ by the side of me on the floor in her mini crate with me stroking her head

She's settled really quickly and I hope she'll wake me up when she wants a pee in the night by whining loudly

That's the plan anyway.

Night night all x

I'll sort some pics out in a bit. Got up about 20 mins ago and SO dead chuffed with puppy.

A whole night, 5 hours, with no bed wetting, took her straight out for a pee...! Awesome

Was lovely spending the night with her easing her into the reality of crate life. She settled in about 5 minutes with me just holding my fingers through the front mesh and she cwtched into them. Not a peep all night then.

Got to try it with me a little further away tonight and see how she gets on. It's an awesome start though
