I found out today that's some friends divorce was actually caused because of her husband's EA/PA with an old HS gf. I've known this man since we were 10. He was one of the only people who was kind to me when I started school in our small town. He continued to be kind through HS even though I was overweight, nerdy and in band and he was captain of he football team. I have always respected him. He sold my H and I our wedding rings. I told him how sorry I was that his marriage wasn't working out. And now, I find out it's because he was cheating and refused to work on his marriage. I don't care for his ex-wife, but she was a good and supportive partner. They have 3 small children. I am just disgusted. Also feel like maybe I'm a terrible judge of character.

Re: judging character?
I think that is a ginormous myth and I have a pretty good "gut" read of people.
Unless you spend oodles of time with someone and have conversations that matter and get to see them in the worst of times, you will never really know anyone.
