We talked today about whacking up the money. I gave her the honest numbers as far as what she owes to "the cause" for now and what she would have left over every week. She didn't like the number but I told her frankly that it was going to be her reality in the near future anyhow so she better get used to it. She lashed out a bit but I was calm and real. Eventually she agreed that my solution was the most fair way to go. So at least I'll be free concern from her reckless spending habits. If she runs herself into the ground it's her problem. Feels good to be moving on.

Good for you, for keeping it factual and business like!
Imagine a ship trying to set sail while towing an anchor. Cutting free is not a gift to the anchor. You must release that burden, not because the anchor is worthy, but because the ship is.

This part isn't easy, is it? I finally learned the hard way that Nearly Exh isn't honest about that with me, either. So when a problem comes along, I learned to put it in the L pile. It's still quite aggravating, but goes by quicker.
Good for you for remaining calm-not an easy feat.
I'm trying to learn to wear the "stone face". It's not natural for me.
And yes, I, too, hope to become less and less connected about money, as he's not good with it either and deadlines or due dates don't bother him...just boundaries to be broken.
