I have a question. I think I am worrying that I will always be alone.
I know I should be happy with myself(working on that), its too soon, I am not ready all of that. But even though I am not ready, at some time I hope I will be ready. My concern is when I am ready, how can I meet anyone. I am currently doing meetups for my hobbies. But my work is not a place to meet others. I go out to bars rarely.
For those of you over the age of 45 and if you are dating or have a SO, how did you meet? Where are you meeting people that are single and interested for dating?
I guess I am concerned I will be buried with my bus pass!

I'm 45, been divorced for 5 years now.
I live in a pretty remote area, and have also had some difficulty in the dating world. I've had the best luck with OLD, but you have to have really thick skin for it.
I also have a platonic male friend that I do a lot of activities with, such as antique shopping and supper a couple of times per week.
I kind of like my current situation. I have a really good friend that I spend time with, and I also am dating someone that I see once or twice per week. I also have time just for me.

I met my SO a couple of months before I turned 46. We met online, but not on a dating site. We had a lot in common, so became facebook friends first. The more we got to know about each other, the more interested we go in each other. So we decided to meet in person and see what happened.
We're been together, in an LDR, for 3 1/2 years.

I feel you Must Survive. I am 2 plus years out of D and I am just now really loving me and my life. Now, I am not sure I ever want to date. I wouldn't mind meeting someone and possibly having a relationship but the whole idea of dating a bunch of random people just doesn't do it for me. I worried about always being alone and then I thought what would be so bad about that? I get to control the remote for the TV, I decide about my money, I vacation where and when I want to. I really like alone. My permanent bus pass? Well, let's just say I would give it up in a heartbeat for the right long term guy. Until he shows up? I am ok on the bus.
