There is a very tight oneway lane behind my office going to one of the main roads in this small town. Its lined with houses made into apartments. At the end of the lane on the busier road is a laundromat.

As im walking down the road, I hear a little girls voice "I see you, Mommy". I look up. There is a sweet 3 yr old girl leaning slighly out of a second story window.

Mom responds "I see you, too". The mother was at the back door of the laundromat. When she sees me, she runs back to her apartment. The way im feeling today, I would have lit into her with some colorful words. Instead I talked to an officer.

Ive heard about this mother from several people.

Its been a rough day. Ive been fighting back tears. This got me.

Time to be my own bff.
