Today was the birthday of a guy I knew before my D. The guy was a neighbor and I was invited over to his house for his birthday through some mutual friends. Except I didn't set a reminder for myself. I don't mind needing reminders. I hate that I forget to set them up in my phone like I should. The mutual friend called and asked where I was. I explained and apologized but I could hear the disappointment in their voice. I don't blame them. I hate when I screw up like this.

Be gentle with yourself Brandon. We are all human and make mistakes. We are sometimes our own worst critics. Do a google search for unrelenting standards schema. There is some great strategies for those of us that can be too hard on ourselves.

Traildad,
Thanks. I appreciate the support.
Am I being too hard on myself? I didn't see it that way, but I will think about that some more.

You had no ill intent at all. Completely honest mistake. Can you schedule something with this friend in the near future to reconnect?
