Status: Recovering and healing. It's going to be a long hard road.
Update November 2013: It only took seven years but I finally turned a corner. :)

You might like to know that if you want to read one of amazon's ebooks but don't have a Kindle, you can download a free little application from amazon that enables you to read the books on your computer, instead. It's obviously harder on the eyes, but it does work.
To read more, got to the web site, click on "Shop By Department" then select "Kindle" and a menu should come up that includes the relevant link.

I don't have a Kindle
FYI, even if you dont have a Kindle, you can download the app to your computer or smartphone and still be able to read the books.

I have an ipad which you can download an app like kindle and works exactly the same as kindle.
Love it.
