I just reconnected with an old school mate from high school.

I am still in the D process, he knows this, but asked me for lunch on Wednesday.

I am so gonna go. We used to be good friends.

I did the same thing. Actually, it was my first "crush" from when I was in about 6th grade. He didn't give me the time of day back then, however! We went all the way through high school together. Not really friends, just school mates, but I always thought he was a nice guy.

After my divorce was final, we went out for coffee. He was just starting the process of divorce at that time as well. We ended up dating for a few months. It didn't work out, it was way too soon especially for him, but that's another story. I don't regret it, and while it ended kind of oddly, I still consider him a good guy and it REALLY helped me see there was other fish in the sea and that my life wasn't over just because of my divorce. Never in a million years would I have predicted my "first kiss" after divorce (which was really really weird!) would be with my first unrequited crush. Funny how life works out...
