Ok here goes. I went to the Dr back in August due to a rash ion the inside of my leg..bikini area. I thought it may be razor burn. It worsened and by the time I went it had spread. I went to the gyno to get it checked and also to.get a full STD check. He told me it looked like it could be scabies...I freaked. I had sex with my ws about a month before and that was bad judgement on my part because I had made my mind up not to be intimate due to not knowing what he's doing and because I plan on a D.Anyjoo the Dr also gave me antibiotic because he thought there may be a skin infection . He told me use the scabies treatment and if it fixed the problem, there was my answer. The rash started to go away but then came back, just not as bad but I had a boil on my thigh. My regular Dr did a culture and it came back positive for MRSA. Now #1 scabies..could have only come from him. I hadn't been in a hotel or anywhere really plus no one else in the fam had it. #2 MRSA scares the hell out of me. My question is...could he have given me that by contracting it from someone else? Why would I.have it? I know he shaves his pubes, I almost always steer clear of his razors but could I.have maybe used one of his and gotten it? I have a compromised immune system due to treatment I take for RA so could.I have it but him just carry it home and not break out? I have not seen him without clothes on since summer so idk if he it, I don't know shit except I'm scared and pissed. I don't go anywhere and am not even around a lot of people so why me?

MRSA is very contagious and I believe you can pick it up from anywhere.
I had a boil this past summer as well on my left side. Then my DS kept getting them in his diaper area. I still have no idea what is causing them. He's had three that needed antibiotics to clear up since July.
I have no idea if it can be spread by sexual activity.

Scabies often looks like folliculitis (infection in hair follicle) and without scraping the skin and looking for the mite under the microscope it's impossible to know for sure. If it was just folliculitis (not an STD) just the antibiotic can clear it up. MRSA has nothing to do with scabies and is not an STD. It's just bacteria found on everyone's skin.

Have they cultured it? I can't believe my gyno didn't pick up on it. Geez...scabies?? I walked out of there so embarrassed. It didn't get dx properly until a culture was done on the boil.

@ purplejacket...I just thought it strange that I got it in that area. I have an appt with a dermatologist so I can understand it better. I think because of where it was and my ws has been on hook up sites..thought there may be a connection.
Thank you for your reply

No they haven't but if it happens again I will demand that they do. I'm sick of dealing with it. They simply hand me a prescription for it each time. Around the same time he suddenly developed eczema on his chest and under his chin. Polyester seems to be the culprit for that. Also, broke out in hives for a period of time. He is only 18 months and has been to the Dr and ER more times than my 7 year old has in her whole lifetime! They don't know what is wrong and don't even seem overly concerned.

My granddaughter had eczema when she was a baby. Tight clothes made it worse and yes polyester. Her other grandma just loved putting her in those frilly lacy dresses...poor baby would be so broken out. Antibiotics being prescribed so much for him, though...seems like they would try to get to the bottom of it.
