Renting the truck right now. Stopped by my house briefly to pick DD so she comes with me to pick the ikea furniture. WW looked pretty distraught. She's shitting bricks basically.
She asked me about the bills coming up on the first. I told her I'd pay this next month since we haven't gone through mediation yet but this was the last time, and that I have a couple of financial models for us depending on how much she keeps the kids based on the state of California website. But since we haven't gone through mediation, right now we can't spend on absolutely anything not absolutely necessary, and she should keep receipts.
I held her hands and told her - it's going to be ok. Probably being nicer than she deserves, but I want to make sure my kids are taken care of.
She's freaking out, the reality of it finally seems to be hitting. And I'm off to shop for furniture and get me set up with a new life, away from stress.
DD is beyond excited. And I am too. Send mojo my way today!!

I didn't realise how bad the situation was until I got some distance. Time in my own space has been so very healing.

Recipe for a Connie Allen, named in honor of the person who came up with it and shared it with me. Grab some Orange Sherbet and a 6-pack of Blue Moon. Scoop 2-3 big scoops of the Orange Sherbet into a beer mug and top with cold Blue Moon. Give it a couple of moments for the sherbet to melt into the beer a bit, and then start sipping and slurping. Still going. Putting her bed together now, then put some sheets on so she can sleep. She's doing puppet shows in the meantime. I'm her audience. :)
