I have been anxiously awaiting a week-long trip to Punta Cana since last June. The suitcases are packed and I am ready for a blissful stay at an adults only all-inclusive resort. HOWEVER, I am due to fly out on Monday...the same day a "potentially" massive storm is set to hit the area (actually it arrives Sunday and will continue into Monday). It is one of those storms will be lots of snow or just a mixed mess depending on the temperatures and the track it takes.
Twenty-one years ago I was married in during a March blizzard. So, I am asking for some major SI good thoughts that my plane takes off ON TIME and that I get to dodge this one.
I will have a drink, or two, for all of you!

Sending mojo and a tidbit of advice. Know the policies for changes and cancellations with your airline NOW. Be ready. They will be slammed once they make the announcement that they are cancelling flights and getting a live person will be really hard. Be ready and get the jump on the other travelers. Have the numbers programmed on your phone. Get in line and dial at the same time if you need to reschedule.
And if ever possible my number one tip is to rebook and get out ahead of a major storm. I know it doesn't always work with schedules and time off. We have however avoided major storms twice by leaving a day earlier. We would have lost a few days in one case, and almost our whole vacation in the other (a hurricane that backed up flights for a week afterward.)
Knowledge is power in these situations.
Go softly my sweet friend. You will always be a part of who I am.
