I am not that far out. Been done with ex way before I found out about affair. I dislike him intensely. I wish he would find a nice women so I could deal with her instead of him. I am in no way shape or form wanting another "relationship". So here is my problem! I want physical contact. I want a safe person to call at night. I don't need advice about a toy or volunteering. Does this intense feeling of needing to be physical go away? I can't seem it find an alternative that makes it better.

Take a large enough dose of a med that inhibits serotonin reuptake and it'll go away for sure.

It will ebb. It will also come back from time to time. Hang in there.

Exercise?
Maybe you are feeling juice come back into your body after a long oppression. Things are waking up. Its all energy and you can channel it where you choose to.

Go for a massage. You'll love the high you get afterwards.

I second the massage. I have those Hand and Stone places near me, they sell subscriptions pretty cheap so you can go regularly.
But yeah, the wanting just a snuggle at night or sweaty sex sneaks up on me too. Then I remember I never really had too much of that anyway and I schedule a massage or grab BOB.

I exercise regularly, not helping. Yes I have alternatives, but not quite the same is it? I'll try the massage. If nothing else my back will feel better :).

No, it doesn't go away. I also want that sort of contact, however as part of my healing I am much more careful in my choices in men now, and as a result have been celibate for nearly a year.
I really missed having something to cuddle up to in bed. My bed just seemed to big and empty, especially since I moved into an apartment and can't even have my dog or cat. One day at Costco I spotted these huge body length pillows. It doesn't really replace a warm body but it does help me to snuggle up to it! And it comes with a lot less baggage and I don't have to worry about it cheating on me!!!

Just waving my hand to join the "crowd" here.
I, too, crave physical affection. Almost in an unhealthy way, in fact. Not just the hot steamy kind, but the sweet kind, too.
It keeps me up at night sometimes, tossing and turning. Sometimes it actually feels like it hurts.
Ugh.

Yes erzulie! I feel obsessed. I have to tell myself to stop. Most weeks are fine but then I'll go through three days where I feel crazy.
Nice pillow!
