They are everywhere, and it's so immensely irritating to me! They want what they want, they want it now, and they don't care if it isn't within "the rules"... just find a way to make it happen for them! And when it doesn't happen, pouting, foot stomping and general drama ensue.

What happened to patience and courtesy, and working hard on your own to achieve what you want, without someone else doing the heavy lifting for you along the way?

Sigh. Come on, people. Grow up.

(Sorry - watching our awesome department assistant get hounded by the entitled today, who don't even appreciate when she jumps through hoops to get them what they ask for... and then have the gall to complain because they want even more than they are getting. It sickens me.)

stroppy...

I totally get what you're saying.

The other day I spent 2.5 hours...TWO and a HALF HOURS on the phone with our health insurance provider all to find out that our policy was cancelled last month (thanks affordable healthcare act) ((ok, not getting political)) and by the time I was getting ready to end our call, the guy on the other end says "thank you so much for all your patience and being so nice about it" poor guy is used to people unloading on him every day.

I'm not going to treat someone like shit just because I may be having a bad day.

Good on you, DS. Your experience had to be frustrating as all get out, and the end result was infuriating, I am sure, but you were kind and decent to the messenger.

I guess that's what's missing too much in life - respect. We expect to receive it from others, but we aren't always good at giving it. You've set a good example and probably really made that guy's day!

I think you just nailed it...it's about respect. Whether you (general term) agree or not with someone, you can still show respect and just common decency to them.

it's a shame, isn't it?
