We have our first marriage counseling appointment to take place on Saturday, March 29. I'm a bit nervous. I'm SO glad they take my insurance, so I only have to pay $25 per visit instead of $150. That's something, I guess.
I went to the website and printed off two of their "new patient" questionnaires. Filled mine out when I got home. Wow, that was difficult. When my husband came home, he filled HIS out. That was quite a surprise - a good one. Not only that he did it, but he did it as soon as he got home, and without bitching. I thought he'd try to put it off, huff about it, and generally make an ass of himself. It really seems as if he wants to do better.
I guess I have a tiny glimmer of hope. But only a tiny one. I still don't believe that he kept their contact to text/phone. I simply don't believe it, regardless of the difficulty they would have had getting together. I still think they did at least once. I also don't think that contact has stopped. I need to address these in therapy ASAP.
So I'm hopeful, but trying to prepare myself emotionally for everything imploding in my face.

It's GREAT that your insurance will cover MC! Double check to make sure that you are out of your deductible - no one likes a surprise like *that*!
I hope MC is helpful for you, & I hope you get the answers you need. I hope your WH can commit to this process.... But most of all I hope you know that you can and will be okay alone, if the need or desire arises.
Good luck!!

It doesn't affect my deductible in any way, as I don't actually have one. I have excellent insurance. And mental health services also don't require a referral from primary care, which is nice.

Even without insurance, effective MC is a LOT cheaper than D and its aftermath.
And the fact that your H did the work he did bodes very well for MC to be effective.

Today I'm not so sure he's willing to put in the work. His phone was vibrating and he was deleting things.. and denying it.
This appointment can't come soon enough for me.
