I've been on and off this board since last February. I've finally committed to divorcing my WH and have taken the following steps:

Hired an attorney who has everything ready to file

Scheduled movers to pick up my belongings

Packed away a few things from my house that WH wouldn't notice are missing

Dropped off clothes and other essentials to my parents' house

Applied for jobs and had 2 interviews - job #2 wants me back for a second interview

Searched for home/apartment, had a couple viewings

WH is currently away at military training. He comes back tomorrow which is the day of our daughter's birthday party. So Sunday I plan to confront that it's over. Tuesday movers are supposed to come for the rest of my belongings. Lawyer will send paperwork to court on Tuesday so he should be served by the end of this week or beginning of next.

Prayers, good vibes and happy thoughts needed. Thank you for all the support and 2x4's!!!

The one thing I did - which I think I got from SI was got a credit card in my name. so if you don't have one I'd suggest add that to your list. I did that back in November. Of course I was crying when I did it and said just for emergencies so low limit. I said like $250-$500. The lady at bank laughed and said that amount would cover very few emergencies. So went to $1000. I use it a little every month and pay it off each month. My credit score is going up! And Im a little worried about the cash flow after I pay for all the mediation stuff this month so I just doubled my limit. STBXWH has a credit card but I always stick with debit. Just another tip.....

Sending positive thoughts your way!!!

I do have a credit card and my own checking account that I opened over a year ago in case we eventually went down this road. I'm so glad I had the foresight...
