for this little guy!

Found him lying in the middle of the highway. He didn't even try to get out of the way. Only got up when DD got out of the car...he started trying to hobble to her.

An hour drive to the emergency vet later and he has a broken tib/fib, lots of fleas, and he's adorable. knight hasn't said he can stay yet but after we go to our regular vet with him tomorrow I would say we are pretty well invested right????

What should we call him? DD22 says Oscar.... I'm not sure...

Ohhhhhh, the poor baby! So glad you could rescue him.

How long does it take to heal? Guess you'll be helping him go potty until it does.

First thought was "Scrumpy" because he's a hot mess right now, but you could call him Harvey Keitel because he's pugnacious...

He will likely have surgery tomorrow to pin it. I won't know how long until we see our regular vet tomorrow...

ETA...he desperately needs a bath and his fur is all matted. I don't think you can see it but he has the cutest really long, black, handlebar like mustache.

What about a Greek God?

Apollo - (a.k.a. Apollon, Apulu, Phoebus) God of the sun, music, healing, and herding.

Attis - The (minor) god of rebirth.

Heracles - (a.k.a. Herakles, Hercules, Hercle) An immortal hero of many Greek legends, the strongest man on Earth.

A few mor her too. I have a friend with a pug named Hercules - Herc to his friends.

On looks....Scruffy

Thank goodness he was lucky enough to have been rescued by such wonderful people. He is so sweet.

Him - Rosco. Snickerdoodle.

Your new member name - Angel of the Knight/Savior of all things cute. Ok. That would never fit as a member name, but what you did really touched my heart.

Knight just called me and said maybe "Bogart"?

I was there waiting for my vet to open his office this morning but he doesn't do the pinning so he sent me back to an orthopedic vet in same city as emergency vet (1 hour away). So doggie and I went there this morning and I just dropped him off to be picked up tomorrow.

I absolutely love this orthopedic vet! In my experience as a nurse the specialists are frequently buttholes but this guy was super nice and concerned about the doggy. I told him that we want him neutered and I was worried about his teeth and his fur is all filthy and matted so I was wondering if we would be able to bath him after. He said he would go ahead and fix the leg, neuter him, clean his teeth, check him for heart worms, give him Immunizations, check for intestinal worms, and start him on heart worm meds for us. And we will only have to pay for the anesthesia once this way. Yay!

I told him husband was considering the name Bogart and when he was finished talking with me he picked up the doggy in his arms and as he carried him out of the room said, "come on Bogart, you're going to be just fine."
